Losee Reunion!

We went to our annual Labor Day Reunion with my family in Delta.
I love this reunion, because everything we do is one tradition after another. Many of these traditions we have been doing for as long as I can remember.
Where else other than Delta would you find a Tractor Parade. This was actually in Deseret on the way to Delta. It was so funny!

Tradition #1: Lunch at the park followed by the talent show. Each year we can always count on the uncles pulling out their accordions for a little yodeling. This year my family decided to mix things up a little bit and came prepared with the song"Zoo-Lou-King" We were fabulous. Tradition #2: After the talent show, all of us cousins head across the street to the DI to see who can come back with the best stuff. I think the employees spend weeks getting stocked up for "that crazy family" that comes every labor day.

Tradition #3: The Auction, where my kids insist on buying something every year.
Gentry got this adorable crochet beanie. I love this picture of Bo. She looks so stinking cute!

Tradition #4: Swimming at the Hotel. All of us cousins get a room at one of the only hotels in Delta. Then while all of us chat and catch up, our kids (second cousins) go swimming. This side of the family has always been close. We get together a lot. My girls have often been confused with who their first cousins are vs their second cousin. They all get along great.

Tradition #5: The Hard Pan. We all get changed into our long pants, and hoodies and head out to a place we lovingly call the hard pan. It's one of those awesome places where the kids can just run for miles and can still be seen. So the kids love it cause they can run wild and the parents love it cause we can sit and chat without worrying about the kids too much.
Tradition#6 The kids building their own bon fire away from the adults. Here they plan marshmallow attacks on the adults, (which is tradition #7) tell scary stories and dance around the fire like Indians.
Tradition #8: BYU football. Each year BYU plays there first game while we are at the hard pan, so all the men gather around trucks and listen. We can always tell when BYU scores because they all start honking their horns. It's great!
Tradition # 9: Games. After we all come back from the hard pan and have bathed and gotten in comfy's, we all gather back together for games of all sorts and more chatting.

This was a new tradition this year: My brother found a cart at the hotel and was giving all the cousins rides. This is seriously how they were packed in there as he ran around at top speed. I was just waiting for him to hit a rock and see them all go flying, but luckily no one got hurt.
Tradtion# 10 Hanging out at grandpa's Sunday morning, where there is more chatting, game playing and eating.
Tradtion # 11 SLURPEES. A trip to Delta wouldn't be complete without a slurpee to drink on the way home. We had a blast and I can't wait until next year!

Jackson Reunion!

The following weekend we had another family reunion in Farmington. This reunion was with Adam's mom side of the family. All of Adam's aunts and uncles were there, along with his grandma and a lot of cousins and second cousins. There were about 80 people there. It was great to see everyone again. I just adore his aunts and uncles they are so much fun to be around. A friendly game of football between cousins.
After the park we went to Trolley Square. It was so erie being there with the reminder of the shooting still in our minds. It was very much like a ghost town, very quiet and deserted. But it didn't stop the girls from playing on the escalators or us going to eat at "the old spaghetti factory" YUM!
The girls posing while we wait for out seats. Regardless of how empty the mall was the Spaghetti factory was packed.

After dinner we headed back over to Adam's uncle's house where we played "pounce" until 1 in the morning and then crashed on their floor. It was a blast! The next morning they served us a breakfast feast and then we headed to Adam's aunt's house for a visit and lunch. (We drove up through Parley's canyon and then through Provo crayon. It was such an amazing drive. The view was incredible with all the trees starting to change colors, the reservoir and the waterfalls.) Again, at their house we were served a feast. After a few hours we headed home stopping by my brother's house in Payson and saying hi. It was such a fun weekend! I'm glad that we can still get together with this side of the family and keep those memories of mom alive.
