Oh my Goodness!

Oh my goodness, 8 new posts of all the Peterson's Summer Fun!

Pioneer Day!

One thing you can always count on in Ivins for the 24th of July is the Pioneer day Parade. This year we did double duty.
Our ward does a float each year and this year it was the Young men and Young Women's turn to build it.

Our theme was "Built upon the ROCK" We had some of our youth that are in a band bring their equipment and rocked out while the primary kids came dressed as rock stars and danced around the float to the music.

It was seriously so much fun and one of the coolest floats in the parade this year.

I also decided to enter the Preschool in the parade this year.

The girls were so excited to be a part of the preschool float. They helped with everything. At one point I started chickening out and they talked me into still doing it.

Gentry and Hallee sat on the float and blew bubbles while Sadie, Calli and Kassi threw candy and handed out flyer's.  It turned out to be a lot of fun!

After the parade Adam spent the day trenching the yard (he was trying to get out of the picture) and

putting in the sprinkling system.  I swear this guy never stops working.  He works full 12-14 hours a day at work and then comes home and works on the yard  every day and all day on weekends.  He amazes me everyday. He is such a hard worker and is doing it all so my preschool will be ready to open the doors in September.

After all the pipes were in Gentry and Halle had a blast running through the dark trying to jump over the trenches.  Yes, it it about 10 pm and Hallee is still over playing and Yes, Gentry is still in her swimming suit.  It is definantly summer at the Peterson house!

Summer Fun!

Just some of the misc. Summer Fun we have been having.

Fun, relaxing and bonding time with Troy.

Trampoline Fun!

Baking Fun! Calli made these homemade dog biscuits for Troy.
He is seriously the most spoiled dog ever.

TONS of swimming in grandpa's pool. Our favorite is night swimming.

The girls are loving the new sidewalks and have spent a lot of time on their roller blades and bikes.

And of course fun with mom's camera.

The Cabin!

Last year my family rented a cabin in Brian Head and it was obvious that this would be a new annual tradition. So on July 8, 2011 we all packed up again and headed to the cabin. 28 people all under the same roof...you can imagine the adventures.
As soon as we got there the girls ran downstairs to the "girls" room and marked their territory.
Jorrin, Ashlyn and Calli were goo goo over Justin Bieber all weekend.

And Sadie, Kassi and Maddie decorated their bunk as well. ha ha

We drove through a huge storm (story below) to get there and Adam's bike was in the back and if you know a man and his bike you know they had to get it inside and dry in no time.  I think it's so funny how all the men jumped in to "save" the bike.

We were lucky enough while we were there that is was "National No-Bra Day" so of course we had to make a sign to hang up to freak out all the guys.

There was plenty to do and fun for all.  Grandpa helping the little ones make their crafts.

Calli and her crew just chilling!

Gentry, Sadie and their crew playing downstairs.

Adam getting ready to go on a bike ride with the Guys.

We played Minute to win it!
Which was a blast.

Me trying to knock over bottles of water with nylons over my head.

My dad shooting rubber bands at a pyramid of cups.

And Sadie, Maddie and Jaicelyn trying to get cookies from their forehead to their mouths.

And of course the Swing. There are so many things for the kids to do and no where for them to really go that they have an absolute ball and the adults get to visit, play games and relax. It's a perfect weekend for everyone.
While we were there however, Adam had a pretty big heart episode. I'm assuming the altitude had a lot to do with it. It started and would not stop.  After about an hour of trying to get it to stop on it's own he finally had to take some meds to get to stop.  That's the first time he has had to do that.  After about a half hour it slowed back down but  the whole ordeal made him feel horrible. It's was pretty scary.  I swear I need to take a pill too when that happens cuz' my heart gets a pumping just worrying about him.  Needless to say after that we are discussing the possibility of surgery...again. We'll see.
The drive to the Cabin was eventful as well.  We drove most the way there through rain but as soon as we hit Parowan it began to pour, thunder and lightning.  About 5 miles before the Brian head turn off a huge lightning  hit and immediately we heard Thunder. It was so close that it shook the car. The girls thought that it hit the car.  About 30 seconds up the road we came across an accident that had JUST  happened. We assumed the lightning had something to do with it.  There was a van that had rolled and ended up on it's side and people were just pulling off to run over and help them. Adam pulled off as well and ran out in the pouring rain to help.   It was so nice seeing so many people jumping out with no regards to themselves and running in the rain to the aid of these strangers, it made me so proud as I watched.  They ended up pulling 3 people up and out of the passenger side door.  Luckily there were no fatalities.  Once the ambulance was on the way we got back on the road again. With that now in our minds the continued drive was a little nerve-racking.  The storm continued and got worse as we drove up the canyon.  A few times it was coming down so hard that we had almost no visibility.  I kept asking Adam if he wanted to pull over and wait it out but he would just calming say "We're okay".   The girls feeling as tense as I was asked if we could say a prayer.  I offered a prayer that we would get there safely and almost as fast as we said Amen the rain lightened up until we pulled into the cabin...what a wonderful sight that was.  My mom and dad and sisters family was already there, we all made an assembly line and got all our stuff in within a couple minutes and to our pleasant surprise they had a warm spaghetti diner waiting for us.  It was Pure heaven after that.

Cousin Fun!

For a week during the summer my sister and I had our niece and nephew come down and stay with us. We had a great time playing that week.

We took them to the splash pad one day where they had a great time entertaining themselves with song and dance. And then we had to of course, go try out the new Main street carousel.

Calli

Gentry

and Sadie.
Also, that week we went swimming...a lot, had lots of sleepovers, kid swapping, jamming to Justin Bieber and went to jumping jacks.  The girls loved having Ashlyn around for the entire week and had her completely turned into a Justin Bieber fan by the time she left.

Changes!

Anyone that knows me knows that I love to rearrange and make changes often to mix things up a bit.
Sadie's room defiantly needed a face lift. We talked about doing it for her birthday in September but when we found a darling comforter we just went for it.  We changed it from Disney to a fun and bright new pre-teen room. I love the colors she picked, it defiantly brightened it up a lot and is totally her.

Well it's seems once I change one room it causes a domino effect and affects more rooms than just that one. After taking down all the Disney stuff I HAD to find a place for it, so we changed Calli's bathroom from dragonfly's to Disney. I love the way it turned out...it's one of my favorite rooms in the house now...ha ha.

After we finished these rooms Adam brought up some of the changes he'd been wanting to do that I was a little hesitant about but I told him if he could figure it out we could do it...he figured it out.
He had been wanting to move the game room stuff downstairs to make more room in this theater room for seating. So we moved the Foosball table, the darts, and the pool/air hockey/ping pong combo table downstairs and...

he got more seating in his theater.  I have to admit I love all the changes we made...even the ones that were Adam's idea. :)

4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July celebrating with family. We had a BBQ and swimming party with Adam's family and then some of them came with us to the park with my family.
We went early enough this year that we could play and visit a little be for the fireworks.

The Losee Clan.

Adam and Eric lit sparklers for all the grand kids for about an hour straight.  We went through hundreds of them and the grand kids just kept coming back for more.

Calli trying out some cool new moves with her sparklers.

Sadie as cute as ever with her sparkler and her own sense of style.

And Gentry just happy to be there with her cousins.

And this is what I came home with...a burn on the foot from one of the sparklers.
But even still we had a great time and a Happy 4th of July.
