Just Another Day In Paradise!

Monday already what! Well..... I honestly can't remember hardly anything that happened this week. Ummm, I ate baby octopus, literally they were full-on baby octopus legs floating in my soup at a members house. Also my companion tells me I have been talking in my sleep....in Spanish #accomplishment Transfers are coming this week and me and Hermana Requena are literally praying we stay together. As hard as the Spanish is and it's frustrating at times, we have a lot of fun and I have seen so many miracles this transfer more than anything. I think I finally lit my "rocket."  I am now the older companion, my Spanish as sky rocketed this transfer and I really feel like a missionary. It's feels really good. All thanks to obedience and the good ol mercy of the Lord. The work is going good, had a little slower week but 2 of our investigators came to church and after, attended a baptism with us, and loved it. One of them Byron has a date to be baptized so we're really excited about that! General Conference is coming up this week! I feel like we just had it, the mission is way too fast. I can't believe it. But really, I've never been happier, it's so hard, but I'm so happy. Really just the little miracles in every single day are absolutely amazing! Just the little slivers of proof that that God is helping us and is leading us exactly where we need to be and to find His children who are prepared. Really I think in these short months I have seen more than anything the love God has for me and for his children. I feel so unqualified at times, but there is just this strong feeling of love all the time. That I'm ok, I can keep going, and he will help me. And just the love for other people, just being able to see first hand the gospel change people lives. And just this different light about them, sounds cheesy but it's so true. I remember in the MTC we watched a video of Brother Holland and he said that we come into the mission thinking that, we are giving something to God and that after the mission we are just going to be showered with blessings like he owes us something. But that is the opposite. When we leave the mission we are going to feel even more in debt to our Savior. In the MTC I did not understand that, but I think I'm starting to understand that a little now. I feel like I am the one being blessed because of him I get to see and be apart of all of these miracles. The mission is a blessing. Well there is my cheesy email for the week.πŸ˜‚But really I know this church is true and so so grateful I get to be apart of this amazing work! I love you all and miss you all so much! Have an amazing week. Also shout out to the fam  grandma Merilee, Ethan, Jayden and Tracey, grandpa Losee-  Happy Birthday love you all!!πŸ’™πŸ’™ Love, Hermana Peterson

Adam's Birthday!

Big 43rd Birthday for Adam! His birthday was on a Thursday, so after preschool I took him to lunch.
That night we ate dinner, opened presents, went bowling (girls idea) and came home for dessert. Then that weekend, I took him out to dinner.
"Modeling" his new jacket. He got this Nike jacket, Justice League DVD, a poster for his weight room, Mini eggs, fishing license, Anomia game and room make-over in the study. (other post)
Bowling with the Fam!! The girls thinking they are pretty funny putting in our names. "Oldman, Rob-Dog, Savage and Dentry" haha! We had a good time and didn't do too shabby. We each had at least one strike and Bo got all of them down but one.

Bo was so funny to watch, she would bowl and then just stand there and wait...
usually with her shoulders slumped if her ball started heading to the gutter.
Then she'd turn and walk back with her head down. Haha!
 Dabbing!
Celebratory Dance. It was a fun night with family.
A few days later Adam received a package in the mail from Spain! Calli got him an FC Barcelona hat, a letter, candy from Argentina and a bracelet she made.
Reading his letter. Happiest Birthday Wishes Adam F. We Love you!!

Room Make-Over

After Adam's mom passed, Adam inherited the much coveted "Ship Picture" It was painted by Aunt Connie (Mom's sister) and was one of mom's favorite things she had in her home.  We were unsure as to where we wanted to hang it so I just hung it in our bedroom until we could decide. I quite liked it in our bedroom but Adam continued to want it downstairs as a focal point. One day he just mentioned putting it in the study and my mind starting racing.  I got right to work planning and shopping without him knowing. He just assumed it would be months before we started on it. The weekend before his birthday I surprised him with everything we needed for the perfect room make-over.
The Picture which was our inspiration for the room.
Nautical themed shelves.

 Telescope in the corner

Fish netting above window.
 LOVE this quote
And a picture of Christ on the shore. We love how it turned out.  In switching the decor in the study however, we now needed a place to move all our Disney Decor. We decided the downstairs family room would be perfect. (The Americana decor we just put away and I will use it to decorate for 4th of July)
My favorite Disney souvenir ever...my silhouettes of the girls.

Puzzle we just bought at Disneyland in February.
We worked on the rooms Friday Night and Saturday. It was such a fun weekend project to work on together and we are both so thrilled with how they turned out. He has his ship picture and I still have my Disney room. We make a pretty good team!

Doctrine! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It's been another amazing week "here by the sea, in the greatest mission on the world's great face" Well it's official I hit 9 months or something.... I am not a baby missionary anymore, now I just start dying in the missionπŸ˜‚Well to start, I wanted to share a scripture with all of you. All you who have read my
emails from the MTC might remember these scriptures:
1And it came to pass that I left the home of my inheritance, to go up into a wilderness into a land called Barcelona Spain.
2Therefore as I began my journey into the wilderness with Hermana Faucett we crossed the lands in a plane, and we were filled with exceedingly great joy and excitement and began to give thanks to our Lord. But we then began to insure trials and tribulations in our journey. Then there became great storms in the air, which did make our travel unsteady, as well as my bowels. I began to become sick, and felt as if I might never be relieved from this awful pain and sickness which beset me.
3 Until at that moment. God took away that sickness from me as I began to vomit in the plane. And it was spread to every kindred, nation and person on that plane. As well all over my own self. And my exceedingly fine mission dress. I began to wept but then was filled with laughter and had faith in the Lord that all things would be for my good.
4After, the short journey had ended. And it came to pass that the plane was upon the ground. And there began to be a foul odor from my clothes. Me and my fellow sisters, wandered until we were brought to what we thought was the promise land of the Lord. We beheld a store that did behold dresses. But we soon found that all the dresses very foul looking and were of exceedingly high price.
5Having no where else to turn. It came to pass that I did purchase the ugly dress of exceedingly high price. Of the price of half of what I then possessed (50 dollars)
6And we did flee to Barcelona to begin our journey. And It came to pass that I did enter I to the promise land (MTC) swaddled in the foul dress.
7We then soon came to learn through the Lord that the dress which I possessed was made therefore for the sport of my father's (aka this dress was a sports dress made for fishingπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)
8And I did keep the dress for fishing with me always
9And I did pass 9 months in the wilderness.
10And it came to pass that we were grateful unto the Lord and we did offer a burnt offering, unto him. And it came to pass that in the 3rd month of the 2018 year we offered a baptism by fire, and we did burn the foul dress.  And we were filled with joy and consumed S'mores!

Yes I burnt the dress I bought for 50 dollars at the airport after I threw up. To celebrate my half way point... Moving on...THE LORD HAD A BAPTISM!!!!! RUBEN IS BAPTIZED!!!!!! WOOHOOOO It was one of the most beautiful BAPTISMS I have been able to be apart of. Ruben has had the missionary lessons for years and for some reason something changed or clicked in him and he decided to be baptized. And I can honestly say he was so ready and prepared. He knows everything front and back! And has such a strong testimony. He is a newlywed couple, the wife Maria is a member. And when Ruben came out dressed in his all white she began to cry and they just hugged. It was so special and the spirit was so strong. After, they both bore their testimonies and both talked about how in one year the will enter into the temple to be sealed together forever and raise their family in this gospel. It was such an amazing, spiritual and sweet baptism. I honestly feel so blessed to be able to be apart of this. To be apart of these peoples lives and to see them change and come to know this joy. It is absolutely amazing. The mission is 100 percent the best decision I have ever made. This is joy. I love you all so much and hope you have an amazing week! This email was a little less serious but I do want you all to know that I have such a strong testimony of this Gospel I know it is true. And is it the absolute most important thing in my life. I feel so blessed to have this knowledge and this gospel. Love you all AND A SPECIAL HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO THE BEST DAD THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN!!!!!!! LOVE YOU OLD MAN!!!-πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š
