Happy 10th Birthday Sadie Jae!

Sadie turned the big double digits this year.

Notice her banner, I had typed 9th Birthday and got it all hung up before I realized that she was going to turn 10 and had to take a sharpie to it and try to fix it. Holy cow. I couldn't believe it.  10 seems SO much older than 9.

Sadie and her puppy cake that she designed all by herself.

Sadie opening her presents.
All she wanted was a "Water Dragon" Isn't he cute? She named him Elliot.

She also got new skates. She got one from Grandma and one from us. She was so funny as she unwrapped them separately. When she opened the first one she lit up and said "Yea Skates...oh, skate" I fell in love with these skates they are so cute, they look just like a pair of converse shoes. I think I need a pair like these. She also got the new Tinkerbell Movie and $20 from Grandpa and Grandma Peterson

Make a wish...probably that her mom will remember how old she's turning next year.
(What is Gentry doing? HAHA)

Cheer!

Sadie and Gentry did the Snow Canyon Cheer Clinic together this year for the first time.
They had two practices and learned a dance and a cheer to perform at the football game.

Posing before the game.

It was so cute! I was actually really impressed that they both learned their dance so fast and did a great job. Sadie said that she wants to be a cheerleader now in High School.

So this is what they were doing!

Last Sunday we had my sister and her family over for dinner and games. Talen and Calli kept themselves entertained the entire time. I kept checking on them and looking out the window and saw that they were just jumping on the trampoline. It wasn't until I saw the pictures on my camera that I saw what they had really been up to...

Jumping off the play house onto the tramp while posing.
(This is just 4 out of about 30 pictures taken)

Hmmm!

I guess this is what I get when I ask a 7 year old to hang up her laundry.
HAHA
Good job Gentry!

I knew this would happen eventually!

Each morning before school Calli takes a quick bath just to help wake herself up. Well this morning she was particularly tired and while she waited for the tub to fill she grabbed a blanket and curled up on the floor.  After a few minutes I realized that the bath water had been running for a while so I went to check on Calli. The first thing I noticed was the wet carpet by the door.  As I opened the door I saw water running over the top of the tub and Calli curled up on the floor sound asleep in the 2 onch deep puddle that covered the floor.
Tis' Life, Right?

Peterson's Zoo!

Some day's I feel like I live in a Zoo.  My girls are "Animal Lovers" and it shows by the array of pets we have. Some I adore and some I could do without.  Take our fish tank for example...I love the fish tank, in fact we just upgraded to a bigger and better one, because we love it so much.

We find ourselves sitting and staring at our fish tank like we're watching TV. It is so calm and relaxing.

Then there's "Mighty" Calli's Iguana that she keeps in a cage in her room.  He's okay as long as he stays in his cage. Calli loves to put him on her shirt and walk around.  Last week Mighty got out of his cage and went missing for 6 days. I just knew he was going to end up in my bed.  Needless to say I did not like him while he was missing and we tore the house apart looking for him, but no luck.  He must have finally got hungry cause he came out of hiding. Luckily it was when Adam was home to grab him.

Also in Calli's room are her hermit crabs (easiest pets in the world) She has 5 of them. They are pretty cool.

And then I guess our fish tank wasn't enough for Calli she thought she needed her own.
The good thing about these pets are none of them stink, Calli bought them all with her own money and is very responsible about taking care of them.  That's actually something I like about having pets is the responsibility it teaches my kids.

And then of course there's Troy. He is an outside dog and 100% the girls responsibility. He's a cutie, and such a great dog.  I love watching Calli teach him new tricks.  My favorite is watching the two of them play soccer together.

This is the water Dragon that Sadie got for her birthday.  When Sadie first told me wanted to add to the list of pets we have by getting another lizard, I wasn't too anxious, but I have to say he is the cutest little thing ever.

Sadie also has a hermit crab of her own.

And Gentry has one as well.
I think we are defiantly done with getting more pets...for now!

Random!

Just a bunch of random pictures without a place to call their own.
I was looking through my pictures and found all sorts of odd and end pictures (most of which the girls took themselves) that I didn't know what to do with, so here's a glimpse into the Peterson Home...unedited.

See how well Gentry can write a "G"...on the house!

Calli and I at a few of our past YW activities: Zumba night, Minute to win it and Steal the flag with water balloons.

I'm guessing this must have been a dress-up day with make-up.

One night after they had been sent to bed. They took pictures of themselves  in front of the TV with the cast of the Muppets.

Right before school started, I took the girls to get their hair cuts and the owner of the salon had a puppy there. My girls were in heaven.

Sadie enjoying a ride in the wagon pulled by Troy.

Another visit to the Enterprise Cemetery to see Adam's mom.

Adam took this picture on one of his bike rides to Gooseberry.  He said if I saw the trail, I'd never let him ride it again.  It edges along a cliff for a lot of the ride...gorgeous views though.

Calli and Troy

Calli's "nightmare before Christmas" collection.  After we went to Disneyland this last time she came home obsessed with it.  All her souvenirs were from the movie and the little stuffed animal she carried EVERYWHERE for about 6 months.

Oops!

Oops, I did it again! I waited until I had a cluster of adventures to post about again, instead of posting as things happen.  So here it is...10 new action packed posts of the many adventures of the Peterson Family! Hope you enjoy reading about them as much as we enjoyed creating them.

9/11

Red Mountain Elementary has one of the neatest 9/11 traditions.  Each year to commemorate and remember 9/11 everyone wears red, white or blue and the parents walk their kids to school.

Sadie, Gentry, Halle and I rode our bikes!
As we arrive to their school, the American Legion is there to raise the flag, lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner and to shoot off their guns. It is always such a moving experience. This year the students also got an extra treat....
To be in their own 1st annual Red Mountain Elementary Parade. At the end of the last school year Mrs. Barnum told them that if they did well at the end of level testing they could have a parade and they did awesome.
The city closed the road and the round about as the entire school paraded up and down the street, complete with police escort.
Here comes 4th grade!
Yeah Sadie!
And then 1st grade!
Hi Gentry!
It was so cute and the kids loved it.  Way to go Red Mountain Elementary!
