August

I'm not sure how August came and went so fast...but we made the best of it.

Adam and I went to the indoor show for a date night. It was a funny and interesting show. But we always enjoy spending time together.
We went to the Simister Party.
Adam's Apple watch had broke, I told him if he got in the bubbles, he could have a new one, he won!

we did some yard work and
Cleaned the trailer.
Had a YW activity where we showed them some old school recess games. We had jacks, marbles, chinese jumprope, Cat's cradle, hop scotch and jump rope. Their favorite was jump rope and trying double dutch. They would have just done that all night.
Adam and I tried out the Pizza Oven...This was Adam's pizza. Haha! They both ended up being calzones. First try was a fail but they were still delicious, just not very pretty.
Bought a little Honda from Brinkerhoff's for Gentry.  Since she doesn't have her license yet, Sadie has been driving it. I think Gentry is going to have to fight her for it.
We always enjoy lots of summer BBQ's.

And of course the amazing summer skies.
Made it to all 3 plays at Tuacahn this summer too. Sound of Music was my favorite.

Stopped by to see Sadie at hair school. She was working the books that day...what a cutie!!
Towards the end of August we enjoyed celebrating dad's birthday at the Enterprise corn fest.

It was fun being up there again and going to Issacs for a BBQ afterwards.
We drove home from Enterprise and went to diner and golfing with friends. We always have fun with Flowers and Cains.
August also brought some bitter sweet news, we were released from YW. Never been so happy to get rid of this sign...Haha! I went and pounded it into Kristen Stout's yard. She is the new YW president. It was so hard being released. I tried to boycott my meeting with the bishop to be released but they found me anyway. I cried when they released me and cried all during my last day in YW. I love YW and will miss the girls, the leaders and being in there with Gentry. On to Activity Days!

We ended August with a bang...We blew up a watermelon using rubber bands for Pack Meeting, the scouts loved it. It was a fun crazy, busy month.

Labor Day Weekend!

What a fun weekend with family! As soon as the schedule came out for BYU football my mom called and said BYU is playing Utah on Gentry's birthday.  If she want's to go, they are yours. She was excited and wanted to go so we made a weekend out of it.
We picked up Gentry, grandma and grandpa and hit the road. We met up with Calli and Jason so Gentry could ride up with them. We were all going to ride together but there just wasn't enough room for bodies and luggage, so Jason and Calli drove grandma and grandpas car and they rode with us since it's getting so hard on my dad to drive long distances.  Austin and Sadie left about a half hour after us. He was spending the weekend with us and then staying up there to get ready for school.
We found everyone!!! My Heart!!
We got there before kick off!!
Rise and Shout the Cougars are out!
Austin and Sadie!
They loved spending the weekend together, especially because they knew they'd be saying goodbye again for a few weeks. They figured it up and out of 18 months together, they've only been "together" for 6 months. They make it work and do a great job at it!
Cuties!!
There's one in every crowd. Our BYU loving family with Ute loving Jason. Made for a fun game.
Jason and Calli. (Side note: they actually broke up a couple days after this trip, she's okay and he's okay. She is so strong and actually doing really well. We all kinda saw cracks so it wasn't a shock. Wishing them both the best)
It was a great ball game before the half. The score was 9-6 for Utah. But after that Utah kinda ran away with it...again. (#9) In the 4th quarter with 9 minutes left it started to rain...Highlight of the whole game.
It was sooo much fun! We all stayed in the stadium, got wet and sang and danced to "Rain in Africa"

Adam was drenched. The rest of us had hoodies or a blanket but he just took it like a man.
After a few minutes of rain and seeing lightning, they suspended the game. It was really coming down now, so we took shelter under the bleachers.

Almost an empty stadium!!
After almost an hour the players took the field again at 12:04 am... of course we stayed. This ended up being the funnest part.
There were way more Ute fans to stay than BYU. We were outnumbered in our own stadium. But by then it didn't matter, Utah was too far ahead for us to do anything, we just enjoyed ourselves.  Being a rivalry game, you can always count on a little bit of drama. Rumor had it that the Utah fans were handing out Vodka in sacrament cups before the game and then a Ute fan next our section got kicked out and hauled off by security. It all made for an interesting night!
The Y all lit up. We drove to our hotel in Thanksgiving Point and crashed around 1:30am. Jason and Calli slept in Grandma and Grandpas room with a rollaway for Jason and the rest of us slept in our room, with a rollaway for Austin. I think it was cute he stayed with us even though he could have gone to his apartment.
We slept in, ate breakfast at the hotel and took it easy. Around noon, we headed to Hogle Zoo. We hadn't been there since the girls were little. It had changed a lot.
Sadie playing in the bubbles.

They still had the lion drinking fountain.

King of the Jungle

Up close and personal with the tiger.

Eating snacks and taking a rest.

Adam cooling off.

We ended our day with ice cream cones, the bird show and...
A ride on the Carousel. Some kids never grow up:)
We were there for about 6 hours and saw all we wanted to see. We were exhausted. We drove back to Thanksgiving point and ate at Zuppas (one of our new favorite places) and went back to the hotel where everyone napped and rested for a couple hours. After naps, Sadie and Austin went to meet up with his family who had just pulled into town and the rest of us went to Cabalas and JCW's for late night fries and shakes. While there, Sadie texted and asked if we wanted to go bowling.
When your kids invite you to go bowling...you go...even if it's 11:30pm.

It was another late night, but we all had a great time. We slept in Saturday morning and packed up and went to Trasen's football game. Calli had made plans to meet up with one of her companions (Hermana Legion) for lunch and then Emma and Graccie for dinner. The rest of us, went to Scheels for some shopping and Ferris Wheel fun!

Grandma and Grandpa's first time at Scheels.
After Scheels, we drove to Provo and ate at Brick Oven and then to the University Mall where we met up with Calli and Jason.  Sadie and Austin were getting pretty anxious about having to say goodbye so she asked if she could stay another day and come home with Kell. Kell's family was at the game too. Kell had rode up with Austin and Sadie. Her family was staying another night. She was thrilled. She headed to Draper with Austin to his grandparents and we headed south home. We pulled in around midnight. What a fun, busy trip.  Rain or Shine, Win or Lose, spending time with my family is always the BEST!!!
