Staheli Farm!

Saturday, October 22nd Adam and I took the girls and some of their Friends out to the Staheli Farms. The "Field of Screams" which Calli and her friends wanted to do was a 3 hour wait so we decided to play around and do everything else instead.

Sadie on the Rope Swing.

Gentry getting a little help from Adam on the Rope Swing.

Sadie on the slide heading toward the Corn pit.

Sadie and Gentry strike a pose.
All the girls on the wagon ride over to the Corn Maze.

We let the group of girls head out on their own while Adam, Gentry and I went on our own. Gentry was a little nervous walking though the corn maze because we could hear the screaming from the "Field of Screams" and also the screams from the girls as they went through alone.  At one point we followed them without them knowing and hid and then jumped out and scared them...it was great! Who needs the field of screams? There was definitely enough screaming going on in the regular corn Maze.

We made it!

Fall is in the Air!

DINNER IN A PUMPKIN:
I have been wanting to do this for the last couple years and I finally did it this year.  I was a little worried about what the kids would think and thought we'd have at least one eating cereal instead, but to my surprise it was a huge hit. The entire family loved it! Adam went back for seconds and kept asking me how I made it, and Calli said it was one of her new favorites and asked if we could do it every Halloween. Yeah!
 PUMPKIN CARVING!

This year the girls pumpkins mirrored their costumes. Gentry did a "Grease" pumpkin and Calli and Sadie did Justin Bieber pumpkins...of course!
 CARAMEL APPLES!

 COSTUME MAKING!

Gentry's "Pink Ladies" Jacket

Calli and Sadie's "Bieber Fan" Pants and bag.

 THRILLER!
For theater, Calli's class did Thriller. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of her before but she was a pretty cool looking Zombie. Look close she's the third from the left.

Sunday Walk!

We went on a long Family Walk to the Dike and back on Sunday. While most of us were enjoying the nice weather, Calli was enjoying posing and making Sadie take pictures of her all along the way:)

My Gorgeous Teenager!

I can't believe how grown up Calli has suddenly became.  She is so much fun and is so far a delightful teenager...knock on wood!

Student Council!

Congrats Sadie on making Red Mountain Elementary Student Council!

She had to write a one page essay on why she wanted to be part of the student council and what she would do to help make the school better.  She was 1 of  the 6 students picked out of about 15 that wrote an essay.  On Thursday she gets to go to Dixie College for the day and attend a student council conference. She's nervous but pretty excited. Way to go Sadie!

17 miracles!

I had the privilege of watching this movie last June with the youth for Youth Conference.  I came home and told Adam all about it and knew it was one we wanted to buy when it came out on DVD.  (Ann Rowley, the mom that put 2 hard biscuits in her pot, is my great, great, great grandmother) Last week I watched it again as a young women activity. Calli also got to see it. She loved it and has talked and talked about it. After hearing Calli's report, Sadie and Gentry wanted to see it.  So for FHE on Monday, we all sat down in the theater room and watched it together. I thought that Sadie and Gentry would either 1) get bored and end up wandering off to go play else where, or 2) think it was scary and hide under the blankets and miss most of it. I was so wrong. They sat and watched the entire thing.  During the first 20 minutes of the movie, Calli came up to me and whispered in my ear "This is going to be a long movie" I said "Why" and she said "because Sadie is already crying."  Bless her heart, Sadie cried through the ENTIRE movie.  She is so sensitive and the stories just touched her heart.  Toward the end of the movie when George dies, I looked over at Gentry and tears were just streaming down her face.  I pulled her over to me to sit on my lap and she buried her head in my chest and cried and cried.  My heart just broke and I thought what a terrible mother I am to make them sit and bear through this movie.  But at the same time I was so incredibly humbled by them and the sweet compassion they had for these pioneers and their great, great, great, great grandmother.  Even at such a young age they understood and allowed it to touch their little hearts.  That moment was indescribable for me as a mother...and wife (yes, the girls were not the only ones crying) After the movie we just sat there for another hour and talked about the pioneers, our ancestors and all they did for us and all they ask from us in return is that we remain faithful. That was one of my favorite lines in the movie.  One women as she was dying said "This will all be worth it, if our posterity will remain faithful."  Even during their darkest times they were not thinking of themselves but their posterity.  I hope my girls will remember this moment for years to come.

Calli and Sadie's Birthday Party!

October 7, 2011
Calli and Sadie both decided that they wanted a JB party this year,
so we did one big combined party! Sadie's birthday is in September and Calli's is in November so we met in the middle.
Calli and Sadie's invites.

As the guests arrived, we took their pictures with Justin himself.  At first they were all a little timid and didn't want to pose, but after a few minutes they got into it and was hugging him and kissing him, fighting over him and wanting more and more pictures taken. There were a few girls that were invited that aren't big JB fans so we allowed them to punch him in their pictures.  It was so funny. One girl even said, I'm going to tell all my friends that Justin was actually there. Ha Ha.

Then we divided into 2 groups, Calli's party and Sadie's Party. One painted and decorated frames...
while the other played JB trivia.
Some the fun frames and pictures of them with Justin.
These were their party favors to take home.

Sadie's

Calli's

Then we opened presents!
Look at that crew. They both have such cute friends, it was fun having them all in our home.

And had Ice cream Cake. These are sugar sheets that you can have any picture printed on.  Calli and Sadie each got to eat Justin's face while the rest fought over which piece  they wanted.

Then they watched the "Never say Never" movie. Or should I say they screamed through the movie. I don't think anyone could actually hear the movie with all the screaming going on. 23 girls, all with Bieber Fever... you can just imagine the squeals.  It was a blast!

Gentry's Baptism!

October 8, 2011
Gentry's Baptism invites!

Gentry's special day finally arrived.
She was supposed to be baptized last month, but due to a family reunion, we bumped it a month. It was so hard for her to wait, she was so ready.
Outside the Stake Center in her baptism dress.
This is the same dress that I wore when I was baptized, along with Calli, Sadie, and all the Losee female family members since my oldest sister. It's been so neat to watch as each of my nieces and daughters have worn this dress with each of their own baptisms.
Gentry and her dad.
Adam and I can't believe that our baby is getting baptized.

In the dressing room just after her baptism.
While our friends and family were waiting for her to change, Calli and Sadie sang "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" Gentry and I made it to hear them sing the last two verses. It was beautiful, they did such a great job...especially with them only practicing twice before which happened to be in the car on the way to the Stake Center. Adam also did such an amazing job with the confirmation. Between his beautiful blessing, the knowledge that all my girls now had the Holy Ghost and the feeling of Adam's mom present I lost it and cried through the entire blessing. I had such a overwhelming feeling of responsibility come over me knowing that all our children had now come of the age of accountability and an overwhelming feeling of joy and comfort knowing that each of  them now had the Holy Ghost with them as their constant companion.

Peterson Family
Notice how I'm the only one looking a the camera and doing exactly what I should be doing...Perfect Angel right? (Actually I was the one causing all the havoc behind the scenes, I had just given Calli's bum a little pinch, ha ha love the reaction.)

Let's try that again...much better.

Calli-13 1/2
Sadie - 11
Gentry - 8

After the baptism and confirmation. We all came over to our house for a luncheon.
What a crazy busy, but awesome weekend.
Congratulations Bo, we are so proud of you!

Snuggle Bug!

Gentry is such a cuddle bug and LOVES to be comfy. The second we walk in the door from church every Sunday she changes into her "Snuggies"

She's also become quite the diva, I can't get just a regular picture with just a regular pose anymore.

Senior Games Opening Ceremonies!

Tuesday, October 4, 2011
Sadie along with her dance team had an opportunity to perform at the opening ceremonies for the Senior games.
I was excited because I have always wanted to go and watch the ceremonies, so it was nice to have an excuse to go.
Sky surfers bringing in the American flag.

Landing right on the field.

Sadie performed in three different dances.
One with her Premier Dance Team.

Then one as a ribbon dancer.

And also a flashlight dancer.
This one was really cool and probably my favorite.

They also did the countries of the World tribute with dancers as the countries flags.
It was really neat and the music was awesome. They had a live band that played 80's music all night.
Afterwards we went to Frostop for Glaciers and Piccadilly chips.  On the ride home Sadie rode home with Adam and Calli and Gentry entertained themselves with my camera...again.
