The Rest of May!

The rest of May was just as busy as the first.
I had my preschool graduation which is always a lot of work but tons of fun!
Cute crayon wreath I got from Raiden and Annie.
Gentry's class did an Opera. It was all original and written by the students. They painted the props, wrote all the words and parts and then brought in a professional to help them put it to music. It was really cute. It was called "Two-way mess up park." Gentry was a member of the family.
We have some birds that have made nests and laid eggs in our tall trees by the wall, so the girls were checking them out.
We took the girls to see Iron man 3 and Croods (different days) which were both great flicks. On the way out Gentry spotted this "photo-op" with  Monster's inc. Characters.
We had tin foil dinners and smore's by the fire pit.

We also had high school graduation.  I had a niece, a step-niece and several young women graduating this year.  So I made up a few different gifts for each of them.
Rylee's gift.

Jadyn's gift. Money and Candy Lei.

Young Women's gifts.
This was one of the best graduations I have been to. It was actually short and sweet. The speakers were mostly students (Valedictorian, Senior Pres. and Student body Pres.) and did a fantastic job. It was also fun that all three student speakers were from the soccer team. As the graduates were lining up to walk through and get their diplomas they had a special graduate they wanted to recognize first. DuJuan is the athletic trainer at Snow Canyon. His 8 month old son has been diagnosed with a terminal condition and only has a couple more weeks to live. His family made a bucket list of things they would like to do before he passes. On the list was "Watch our son graduate" They got their wish this night as he was the first graduate of 2013 to walk through the SC. They received a standing ovation. It was very emotional and such a neat experience. Snow Canyon is an amazing school.

Jadyn and her family.
Me and the girls with Jadyn.
Way to go Jay!
On the last day of school we kept with tradition and took the girls to Iggy's for lunch. They were so excited when their dessert came. The cheesecake and ice cream were bigger than their heads.
May 1st I started this biggest loser competition with some friends and have continued at it for the entire month. The program goes for 12 weeks and the winner gets a $300 pot. At our last weigh in I was 5th out of 23.  Adam's not doing the competition but we have been exercising together.  I am feeling really good and love watching the progress and seeing myself run or bike a little further or faster each time.  On Saturday the 25th, Adam and I got up early and went for a 11 mile bike ride. Adam used to mountain bike all the time and has really wanted to get back at it. So we rode 4 miles down Snow Canyon Parkway to the Paradise off-road trail. We did that ride which was about 3 miles of rough up and down terrain and then rode the 4 miles back. We did 11 miles in about 2.5 hours. It really was a lot of fun. I think we'll be doing a lot more mountain biking in the future.
Memorial weekend we had family in town, so of course we had to kick off the summer with an afternoon of skim boarding.
Calli
Sadie and Kassi
We also had 3 different BBQ's with the families.
Chipmunk Sadie.
Calli has also started her summer soccer conditioning. She goes Monday-Thursday at 7:30 am to do running, weight training and skills. Then Tuesday - Thursday afternoon she does acceleration with the Intermountain athlete trainers to improve speed and agility. She also has 2 week-long soccer camps coming up as well. I'm so proud of her for always giving 110%. For always wanting to improve and get better. Not every teenager would be willing to give up their summers for soccer but then again she's not your average teenager either:)
Well, so glad that the busyness of May is over and we can now enjoy our summer vacation!

Sadie's Dance Review

Sadie had her Year-End Dance Review
with Premier Dance Company on May 17, 2013
Table display of the E-teams.

Gorgeous Sadie
Element Dance Team 2013

Sadie and her friend Kennedy Peterson
Sadie takes 6 hours of classes a week. Monday she has tumbling, Wednesday she has ballet, jazz, hip hop and Element competition team (where she learns more hip hop, jazz and  lyrical routines) and then on Friday she has tap. She loves it. I'm constantly asking her if she is still enjoying it because I know it's a lot but she always say's yes!
She performed 8 different routines. Her three element routines, along with tap, hip hop ballet, jazz and tumbling.  All her element dances I had seen at the competitions and various performances they have done this year, but I hadn't seen any of her regular class dances.
Ballet III
Tap III
and Hip Hop III. Every time I watch her dance I am more and more impressed. She is developing into such a beautiful dancer.
Sadie was also recognized that night for her 3.9 GPA at school.

Her certificate!
And of course she always gets flowers from her proud dad.
Good job Sadie.

Way to Go Calli!

Look who Lettered in Soccer her Freshman year!

We went to the Athletes BBQ at the high school where we ate Outback...yum and they honored all the athletes that had lettered this year along with other awards (athlete of the year etc.) It was really cool!

A couple weeks later we were off to the "Honor Student Ceremony" where they honor all students with high achievements  (National Honor Society, high GPA's, 100% attendance etc.)

Calli was honored for being on the Honor Roll with a 3.75 or higher.
Way to go Calli. We are so proud of all the great things you are accomplishing!

Random May pictures!

May is always a crazy busy month. Here's what we've been up to so far.
Adam's brother Micah and his wife Michelle ran the half Iron man.  So we went down to the finish line and cheered them in. It's always so inspiring to watch these athletes finish.
Calli has been driving and driving. Here she's driving through a drive-through and ordering for the first time.
The youth went repelling. This was Sadie's first time and she did it...twice.
Oh, my goodness, no word can describe this. Adam and I had gone on a date and left the girls home. As we pulled up Sadie came running out to the drive way like this...I instantly knew who she was supposed to be and just cracked up laughing.
There is this you tube character named "Miranda Sings" that is really popular right now and Sadie can imitate her to a T. It is so funny. She gets me laughing every time.
Gentry had her year-end choir concert.
and had a speaking part. Even though she is very shy, she has really liked choir and has loved hanging out with her friends Hallee, Miley, Kaden and Sara after school on choir days.

I  made a Teacher Appreciation door again this year.
This was for Gentry's teacher Mrs. Blackburn who is expecting a baby.

I loved the wreath so much that I made another one for my friend Kristen who just had a baby as well.

Gentry was also the Red Mountain Elementary's Super Hero for the month of May.
Each teacher picks one student to be the super hero for that month. They get to wear a cape for the day, eat lunch with 2 super hero's and then get a backpack full of fun things from Menchies. It was so cute. She was very excited. We also had our annual Mom's lunch at the school (no pictures)
Calli had her last game for the Bombers Season. They took 2nd place! I forgot to take a picture, but here's picture of her cool new cleats. Next up, conditioning, summer camps and then try-outs again.

Sadie also had her last dance competition for the year.

They did three dances and got 2nd in all three.
Next up, year-end recital, and try-outs for next year.

We also celebrated Mother's Day!...my favorite day of the year!
My family always spoils me and never lets me pick up a finger all day...pure bliss.
Came down stairs to this surprise in the morning.
A new sports umbrella (a must for those hot soccer games. I had taken our other one skim boarding and broke the pole) Roses, a balloon, a long maxi skirt, a necklace, face rub (from Gentry that they made at activity days) and cards from Adam and the girls.
Me modeling my new skirt that ADAM AND THE GIRLS PICKED OUT ALL BY THEMSELVES and surprised me with.
Adam and the girls making dinner. Baked egg rolls, fried rice, and teryaki chicken...by request!

Later that day we went and visited my mom and gave her this from all us kids. Memories of our annual trip  to the cabin in Brian Head each year.

Gentry Soccer!

Gentry once again played soccer and once again was lucky enough to be on Jantzyns and Hallee's team.
Terry and I were once again  roped into  volunteered to be their coaches again this year.
We had another great team and won all but two of our games. We lost one and tied one.

Gentry as team captain for this game choosing kick-off or side of the field.

Each player took a turn at being goalie.
Gentry made $6.00 for this game $1 for for stopping a goal and $5 for making a goal.

The "Tiggers"
End of the Season!
