Spring Break!

This spring break was a little different than our normal spring breaks. My sister and I had plans like we always do to do something with the kids each day. But between her family and mine we had sick kids most of Spring Break. Monday, we just had a catch-up day from being gone all weekend and the girls played with friends. On Tuesday we did a switch-a-roo day. I had some of hers and she had some of mine for the entire day. On Wednesday, we went to the movie. By Thursday, Calli had gotten worse so we had a stay at home day with a visit from our friend the Leprechaun.

He left a trail of shamrocks for the girls to follow to ....

The pot of Gold. It was a yellow bucket, with a yellow Frisbee, yellow, bat and ball, yellow bubbles, and gold chocolates...everything for a day at the park.

And of course, we had to have our green breakfast.
Friday, the girls had Nemo practice. Calli and I worked on the T-shirts and got them done just in time for practice.
Some of the cast in their "Neighborhood Kids Production" T-shirts.

The Front

And the back...these were designed by Calli...so cute!
Saturday the girls played with friends while Adam and I did some much needed yard work. That night we went out to dinner to celebrate Adam's birthday.  On Sunday, we had a family game night with my family. And then on Monday, I took the girls to Jumping Jacks and then met my mom and dad and Adam  for dinner to again, celebrate Adam's Birthday.
The next day was Adam's "real" Birthday.  He took a couple hours off of work to drive to Cedar with me to go see Calli at her Science Fair she was involved with at SUU for honors science. (details in a later post)
Then we went to lunch to again, celebrate Adam's Birthday. That night was crazy busy with Dance and Piano lessons and 2 soccer games. We finally got home around 8:00 pm. We had cake and ice cream and opened presents.  Adam had actually gotten his birthday present earlier in the month when he got a couch and popcorn popper for his theater room. But, you have to have presents to open on your birthday so the girls got him some new Teva's and a couple of DVD's. Happy 36th Birthday Honey. I love you!!!
All in all it was was great week!

Weekend Getaway!

We were planning on heading to Salt Lake City on Saturday (March 12) for our nephews mission farewell on Sunday. But then Adam had a job come in that needed to be done that same weekend in Salt Lake so we decided to go a day early and make a weekend out of it.
We got up at 4am and drove to Salt Lake. Our first stop was McDonald's for breakfast and then to Adam's job. It's a  huge estate with a big yard, streams, trees, trails and swimming pools. So there was plenty to keep the girls occupied. They did great. They colored, played soccer, built a snowman with the left over piles of snow, went exploring and helped Adam with the cover.

The girls on the cover wiping it off.

Taken a break! It feels just like a water bed.

After Adam's job we drove to the hospital to visit some friends from the ward, Ryan and Jenni Cain who happened to be there for some complications Jenni was having with her Kidney. Things looked good and she gets to come home Wednesday. After the hospital we drove to Temple Square.

We walked all around the temple.
And went in the Tabernacle and visitor centers.
Adam, Calli, Gentry and I chilling on the couch looking at the Christus.
Then we walked over to the Children's museum. My girls love this place. It is different every time we go.
The girls building a Temple.
Gentry trying it out.
Then we walked over to the Conference Center. There is such a great spirit here.  (Those are Calli's fingers...she seems to always make an appearance)
On the roof of the Conference Center. This fountain in directly above the pulpit in the auditorium below.
Sky lights on the roof that are also in the auditorium.
View of the capital building from the top.
The fam checking out temple square from the top.
Inside the enormous Auditorium.
They were getting ready for Young Womens' Conference...notice the Value Flags. So Cool!
After Temple Square we were starving and went to our favorite "Northern Utah" restaurant, McGraths.  Then drove to Bountiful and checked into the hotel and took a late night swim.  The next morning we woke up and drove to the Zoo.
The girls love these statues and have to pose at every one.
Down on the lower observation deck checking out the elephants.
Adam enjoying the giraffes from the comfort of a bench.
Then we got up close and personal with a few animals.
This is a new baby elephant that was just born at the zoo. Her name was Zuri and Gentry fell in love. Her souvenir was a stuffed animal of Zuri.
The girls getting REALLY up close and personal with a python.
After the Zoo we went to a shopping mall and did some shopping.

The girls found these hats in a clearance bin and we each bought one.  They wore them the rest of the trip. They were so cute. A funny conversation with Bo while shopping: I held up a darling Minnie Mouse swimming suit that was exactly Gentry's size and said "Look how cute this is?" She walked over, held it up like she was examining it and said "Yea, I could squeeze into that." It was too funny!  After shopping, we went back to the hotel to rest and get ready for dinner. All of Adam's mom's siblings and his grandma are in Salt Lake, so when they heard we were all coming for the farewell, they reserved the back half of Golden Corral for dinner. There were about 40 of us. It was so much fun to see everyone and visit.  After dinner we went to Adam's Aunt Connie's house and hung out until eleven, visiting and laughing.  We went back to the hotel and let the girls swim until a little before midnight.
Love this picture...Sadie giving Gentry a boost to look out the peep hole!
The next morning we went to the farewell. Travis did a great job. He is going to the Baton Rouge, Louisiana mission and will be a great missionary. He is the first of our nephews to go. After the farewell, we went over to their house for a luncheon and more visiting,  On our way home we stopped in American Fork to see one of my brothers.  We got home around 10:00 Sunday night.
What a fun, action-packed weekend. It was just what we needed.

Family Home Evening!

We were having FHE on Monday, and  had just talked about the importance of Listening to the Prophet. Then we played a game where the girls picked a picture that had something on it that the prophets have asked us to do and then they would tell the blessing that comes from obeying.  After the game we had all the pictures laid out on the floor and we were looking at them and I asked if they needed to obey all of them or if they could just "Pick and Choose" which ones to obey. Calli stopped and just starred at me with this shocked looked on her face and said "What?" So I repeated myself. She sighed with relief and said "Oh, I thought you said, 'or can we just Frickin' Choose' which ones we obey." Haha It was so funny. We laughed and laughed. Needless to say we never really got the spirit back to finish our lesson.

Finding Nemo!

Neighborhood Kids Production is in full swing again working on their next play...
 Finding Nemo!
Working on the choreography!

Working on the songs!

Working on their lines!

Working Together!
Calli and Sadie have started a neighborhood kids play production group.  Last summer they did the play Tarzan and this time they are doing Finding Nemo. The cast (cousins, friends and neighbors) get together each Friday and Saturday to rehearse.  Calli and Sadie work throughout the week on scripts, choreography, costumes, props etc.  It is so fun for them and they are very professional.  They have even made shirts that the kids can order and wear to each practice that says "Neighborhood Kids Production" on the front and the "Cast List" on the back and have also created a private blog.  It's a lot of hard work but they love every minute of it. Calli has even passed a few YW goals doing it.  I can't wait to see their next performance.

Gentry's First Report!

Each year at Red mountain the 1st graders are giving an opportunity to learn about and present their first oral report. They can choose whatever subject they would like and then write a paper about it and present it.
Gentry chose to do her report on "Sea Turtles." I cut out the letters with my cricut and printed the pictures then she backed each picture and cut them out and glued everything my herself.  Each picture was had a little sea turtle by it with a number on it.  Her report was numbered as well so as she read her report she knew what picture to point at. It was so cute and she did a great job!

Dog Show!

Calli and Sadie making a "dog show" obstacle course and teaching Troy new tricks!

New Hangout!

The girls love hanging out and playing in the preschool, it's the new cool hangout!
Setting up an entire "littlest pet shop" village. This was a Sunday afternoon. They play so well together. I am so glad that I have three daughters that are the best of friends!
