Soccer Tournament!

Calli had a  soccer tournament in Mesquite the weekend
of January 18-19.
She had two games on Friday. One at 3:00 and another at 8:00. So we had time in between each game to waste. It was one of Calli's teammates and coaches daughters birthday so the team and all the parents went to dinner together to celebrate.
We took the whole back area of the Panda Garden.
Calli with some of her team wearing their birthday hats.
After dinner we drove to the field where the next game was going to be played and hung out. Sadie and Gentry loved the playground. The second game was cold so we were all bundled up in blankets. We got home that night at 11:30 pm just in time to get some snooze and head back down the next morning.
The next day she had a game at 11:00 and 5:00.  So in between these games we grabbed a bite to eat,  found a movie theater and watched a movie and got ice cream. As we headed to the next game. We found out that we didn't have another game that night. So we had hung out all day for nothing. Oh, well it was fun. Calli was excited to head home early so she could go to the region dance.  The rest of us got together with Isaac and his family and played games. It was a pretty intense tournament. We won 1 out of the 3 games but it was still a good experience. I just wish I had taken more pictures.

Yep, it must be January!

I can always tell when it's January because our house gets hit with the bug. Luckily, it wasn't near as bad as some of the horror stories I had heard of other bugs going around. Ours worked it's way through the family and was back out with in a few days.
But it did happen to hit all the girls at once.  I had all three girls home from school for 2 days. This is where they lived. All three piled in my bed with medicine, munchies and TV.

Gentry after a few hours ventured downstairs to relax in style.

Adam's Weekend in Seattle!

 January 10-13, 2013
Adam's brother Duke was undergoing a pretty serious surgery so Adam and his dad flew out there to be with him for the weekend.

I'm so glad that he went and was able to be there with Duke but, man it was a really LONG weekend here without him.  I can count on 2 hands how many nights we have spent apart in the last 17 years.  Being apart is just not something either one of us enjoy.  Luckily, we had cells phones, texting and skype to help fill in the gaps.  I told Adam to send me lots of pictures (with him in them)...so I could see all the fun things they were doing.
The view from Duke's hospital room.
Although they did spend most of their time hanging out here with Duke, they did get out and see the sights each day as well.

Hanging out on the beach.
They took a ferry ride to the other side of the bay.

They went to Pikes Market
Adam reenacting a picture of me kissing a similar statue in Monterey Bay.
Lots of booze.
They went down to the pier.
This is a famous gum wall.
He sent me this one because he knew I would gag. I hate gum in any form and this was just disgusting  He was right, it made me gag.
My favorite picture he sent. Just chilling at the hospital.
The girls and I spent our weekend having some fun girl time.  We had big slumber parties in the family room each night. (We slept at home every night, which is huge for me. I'm such a baby about being home alone, but we were brave and did it)  We had dance offs, ate munchies, went shopping, watched movies, went out to dinner and went to visit my mom. My dad was doing some renovating so we went to check it out.
When my parents first built the house they had an indoor swimming pool but as the kids grew older the need for a dining room was more demanding. So they covered the pool with a floor and turned the pool room into the dining room. During his current renovations he had to cut a hole in the wall where the pool is. The girls were dying to go check it out. (The pool was covered before any of them were born.) Checking out the pool through the hole.
They all crawled through the hole to get a closer look.

Calli, Hallee (she spent the weekend with us while her parents were out of town) and Gentry in the bottom of the pool.  We sent these pictures to Adam so he could see what we were up too as well.
Another picture sent right before bedtime telling Adam goodnight from his girls.

Finally, Sunday came. We got the call from Adam around 10am saying that they had just left Las Vegas. We anxiously waited until noon to drive to the shuttle to pick them up. The girls ran and attacked him as he got out of the shuttle. You would have thought he was returning from a mission or something not just a weekend stay. It was so good to have him home. We both slept better Sunday night than we had all weekend.
Glad your home honey, we sure missed you!

Year-End Fun!

On top of surviving the End of the World (12-21-2012)...
We had a fun Christmas break spending time with the family.
We went  to Jumpin' Jacks, the park, and to a couple movies. Adam's family are Les' Miserables die hards, so of course we had to go that one as soon as it came out... absolutely LOVED it.  The next day we drove out to Zion and took the girls to see the Hobbit on the Mega Screen.
It was a fun little day trip. The girls were really impressed with the big screen.
We also took the girls to the hibachi grill at Samurai 21. The girls loved it and the food was great too.

Calli spent her break getting into scary movies. She invited friends over to watch "Signs" 3 different times. During one of the times I went up stairs to check on them and found this...
They made their own tin foil hats to protect themselves from aliens. It was so funny!
Here they are with the characters of the movie doing the same thing.
We also had my sister and her family come down for New Years Eve weekend, so we had a big party at our house. We had my family and Adam's family all over to celebrate and bring in the new year!
Happy 2013! We were so sad to see the break end, we loved spending time together as a family!
