Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Tuesday, January 26th we got hit with a pretty good snow storm.
What started out as a little dusting of the mountain and...
and a few small flakes
Turned into a flurry of larger flakes.
It was so pretty!
The red mountain was practically invisible behind the white curtain of snow.

Snow is my favorite from inside my warm and cozy house, drinking hot chocolate and looking out the windows.
While Adam likes to get right out there and enjoy it.
It continued to snow the rest of the evening and night.

Pay Back. Sadie and Gentry snuck up on Adam watching TV in our room and threw snowballs at him, like he did them the last time it snowed.
Out on the deck.

Front Yard!

Wednesday Morning! We received 2 inches of snow.

Heading down the driveway to work.

It was clear as I drove to work, that Ivins was hit harder than anywhere else. Once I entered St George, the snow was off the roads and sprinkled lawns here and there. Love living in the desert but happy to have a winter wonderland occasionally.

Red Sands and Pioneer Names

I sure love the talks we have as we adventure and explore together. It's amazing how many of life's curve balls we can figure out during our weekly hikes together.
Awesome pic, spot and view
This time we did Red Sands at Snow Canyon and then hit Pioneer Names on the way out. It's amazing to me that we still haven't hiked everything there is to hike in Snow Canyon.

I loved that it told us when we had hit the end of the trail. But...we had to go exploring beyond that.
There was lots of standing water, where it had just stormed the night before. It was surprisingly a nice day. I dressed warm and ended up taking my coat off.

Quick stop for our traditional selfie.

Heading out and feeling good so we stopped off at Pioneers Names which was just a quick 1/2 miler but so cool!

There was moss all over the rocks from the recent rain.

Actual pioneer names dating back to 1881 written on the rocks in axel grease.
So Cool!
We hiked up to the cave they were in. Coming down got my heart pounding. It was nerve racking.
But we made it! Another successful hike!
