General Conference Weekend!

One of my favorite weekends all year!! Sadie had gone to Provo for Austin's baseball scrimmage, so it was just Calli, Gentry, Adam and I.
Saturday  Morning Breakfast and packets.
Listening and note taking.
Sunday Morning Breakfast!
Face Masks!
General Conference Trail Mix and Journals.
More note taking!
And conference cuddles.
Staying entertained by stacking pretzels on Adam's head.
Pizza in the pizza oven for dinner....I just realized our conference weekends involves a lot of food. No wonder it's my favorite. Spiritually and physically fed...what could be better.
So many great talks, thoughts and more changes, mostly with the youth program. I really surprised they changed the YW theme and did away with the class names, values and the YM president on a ward level. Always so inspiring! Loved this picture and caption of our prophet.

Gentry's First Date

Saturday, October 5, 2019
Calli and her friend Ryan had set up a double date with them, Gentry and Ryan's little brother Brycen.  Gentry surprised us all and said "Sure, I'll go" and was actually really excited about it. We were shocked. She's usually gun shy about that kind of stuff. But she was on board.
But before she could go on her date, the girls all know that dad always get the first date before they their first "official" date, so that afternoon he knocked on the door and asked her out to lunch with a rose...I'm always lucky enough to get to tag along.
That night her and Calli had a blast getting ready together and giggling. Calli, Ryan, Brycen and Gentry. Ready to hit the town!
They went to the haunted corn maze...
and then to Neilsen's for frozen custard. They all had a blast. Gentry thought he was so funny and... cute ;) She had a great time!!

September

Started out the month with a "Paint the Night" for RS. So much Fun!
I love  these ladies!
We had such a great turn out!
Adam and I try to go on a walk once it cools down a bit at night. We are given the most amazing views to enjoy while we walk and chat.

Cute little heart on one of the walks!

Love this time of year...case lots are my fav!!
During FHE during the lesson I leaned over and whispered to Adam that we should go to Munchies after.  The girls began mimicking us and started whispering to each other.
FHE, Ice Cream and my fam...some of favorite things.
Adam scored a new treadmill and bike from a Rec center that was getting new equipment. We had to move out the big weight machine to make room for the bike.
Always a bigger challenge than we think it will be.
But so happy with how it turned out.
My hard working, tired man, things usually start to slow down at work this time of year, but not year, I guess it's a good problem to have!!
Received some amazing news that Tyson and Lacey are expecting! We could not be happier for them. Congrats!!
Finally, after a couple years I got my ring cleaned and the epoxy removed from it. I'm in love. It looks as good as the day Adam gave it to me.
Ended the month with a friendly game of spoons at Ryan Cain's 40th birthday party.
Adam and Ryan battling over the spoon. It ended up breaking so they had to share the points. Haha!
Another month has come and gone...bring on FALL!!!

Sadie's 19th Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SADIE JAE!!
Saturday, September 21, 2019
How is this girl 19? What a sweetheart she is. Couldn't love her more. She's been so much fun these last 19 years...can't wait to see what the future holds. Her friend Kell and Austin texted us a month prior and asked us about surprising her with "Music Festival Tickets" We said sure and helped them plan and keep it a secret. They did such a great job keeping it from her, that she kept trying to plan her own birthday party. They told her they were going to go to Vegas to Top Golf. So she figured they would have plenty of time to have big bash later that night. She wanted a "blow up jumper" set up in the back yard for when she came home. We knew she wouldn't be home in time for a party but got cake, ice cream and smore' stuff just in case. :)
Austin came over bright and early and kidnapped her. She was so confused because she was getting ready to go to hair school for a few hours before heading to Vegas. Little did she know that it was all a hoax. Kell had already worked things out with her instructor by giving her "false appointments" They went to El's house for breakfast and then gave her the tickets. She was so excited...especially because she didn't have to go to hair school:)
Sadie and Austin

Sadie and Kell
The crew! They had a blast. They spent the day at the festival and then went to dinner. They didn't pull back into town until 11:00pm...too late for another party:)
The next day (Sunday) we had Austin over for dinner before he had to head back to Provo and enjoyed her cake and ice cream.
What a great day! Full of friends, music, food, fun and celebrating!! Love you so much Lou!

Poor Gentry!

Gentry had gone to the high school football game and came home, casually walked into our room and said "oh ya, I forgot to show you, I have this rash. She pulled up her shirt to show her stomach and I'm pretty sure our jaws hit the floor. This rash covered her entire body. How could she have "forgotten" about it. :)
It didn't bother her at all. It didn't itch or hurt so we just figured it was an allergic reaction to something and that it would look better in the morning. She was really hoping it would because she didn't want to miss school. I woke up the next morning to go check on her and the rash had gotten worse. All the little spots were coming together and forming big patches of red and...she was very hot to the touch. This is what worried me the most because an allergic rash is usually not accompanied by fever. I called into work to let them know I wouldn't be in and woke Bo up and told her we were heading to instacare.

At the doctors office waiting for the doctor.

The doctor walked in and went "hmmm." As he looked her over and asked questions he said "interesting" followed by "you never want to hear your doctor say interesting" haha! He was stumped and wanted to run some blood tests. This was the first time she had her blood drawn and was such a champ. They tested white and red blood cells, kidney and liver function and even mono. All the results came back normal. He resulted that it was "Drug Fever" an allergic reaction to an antibiotic she had been taking for a week and a half for acne.
We grabbed lunch and went home and hung out in my bed all day.  Over the course of the next few days it slowly started to fade but began to itch as well. After refusing over and over she finally caved and took an oatmeal bath. This helped a lot. It eventually went away but man, what a weird adventure we went on!

Bryce Canyon!

September 27-29, 2019
Another Peterson/Cain Adventure...and what a blast it was!
We had been trying to get to Bryce Canyon for Tim Gates dinner show for months but could never get our schedules to match up. Finally with a few revisions we were able to pull it off. Adam and I drove to Brian Head Friday after work and the girls drove up the next morning after Sadie was done at hair school.
That night we had a "Shrimp Boil"
What a feast! Adam and I had a great time that night with just the two of us and Cains! We went into the trailer around midnight and thought we have the whole trailer to ourselves lets watch a movie, we turned it on and about 15 minutes later we had both zonked...I guess we're not quite the party animals we used to be!! :)
The next morning we drove down to the Sasquatch Donut place and got donuts and hot chocolate for breakfast and then drove around and looked at lots.

We played games while waiting for the girls. They did great and made it in good time. We ate lunch and then headed to Bryce Canyon.
We had gorgeous views as we drove up and over the mountain
Bryce Canyon...Thunder Mountain Railroad was modeled after Bryce Canyon, all that's missing is  the goat with dynamite in his mouth.

Such amazing views. Calli was so excited to go on a hike. She had never been to Bryce, the one time we had gone was when she was on her mission.
We hiked to mossy cave.

It was a great hike!

My girls!

The highlight of the hike was the waterfall!
We hiked down to it to get a closer look.

Love  this picture!

Calli modeling...in case you needed an explanation! haha!
Much better!!

It was so cool!

Hiking back, Calli dropped her phone in the water, Adam jumped right in after it and amazingly found it before it went down stream!

After our hike we went to the shops and walked around a bit!
Cutest Cowgirls ever!!
Charleigh bought all the girls matching mood rings!
Calli and Charleigh
Calli trying a more serious pose

Back off ladies, he's all mine.
Outlaws!!
After walking the shops we headed over to Ebeneezer Dinner Show. I had texted Tim and told him we were coming. So he kept his eye out for us and came over and chatted as soon as he saw us at our table. He even gave Ivins a shout out during the show and we all cheered.
It was such a fun show, he is a great performer.

The girls singing and dancing. Calli was in heaven!
The best part of the night was after the show when we were hanging out waiting for the waves of people to get pictures with him so we could get a picture. We weren't in a hurry so we were just chilling in the corner, when he motioned for us. We walked over to where the meet and greet line was and he started ushering us to the front saying "VIP'S, these are our radio winners" haha! So funny. We got right up there and took our pictures, feeling like rockstars!! We drove back to Brian head for the night.  It was a cold, windy, rainy night with lots of thunder. Thank goodness for a trailer with heat.
The next morning we shared breakfast. They made sour dough pancakes and we made omelets. Had to snap a picture of our neighbors bringing us over pancakes.
We stayed and played for a while, not leaving until around 3:00pm. On our way out there was a fallen tree from the wind right in the road. Ryan pulled out his chainsaw and we had the road cleared in no time. It was a great weekend. Loving our adventures together!
