Post Overload!

You better grab a pillow to sit on because by the time you're done reading all 10 of my new posts your bum is gonna be aching without it.  May is always insane around here, so I waited until everything was over and done with before sitting down to blog about it...so heads up you're in for a long ride...Enjoy!!

SuMmEr!

Summer of 2012 is finally here!
Calli decided not to go to her last day of school so she stayed home and helped me make this sign for the other two girls.
Then Adam and I took the girls to lunch at Iggy's (This is a tradition we started a few years ago)

The girls chilling on a rock after we ate.
Calli- 14
Sadie - 11
Gentry 8
Love these girlies!

Our Dare Devil!

Each year we take the youth rappelling. Calli loves it. It's her chance to live on the wild side...while safely anchored to a rock.
Her first time she went down the smaller side, but it wasn't long before she headed to the "Big One"

On top getting harnessed.

Rappelling down....but after doing that once, even that wasn't enough...

Last year she wanted so desperately to go down "commando" which is face first but she was too light. So she had to try it again this year.

I suggested she try it off the little one first but before I knew it she's headed down the big one face first.
I quickly called Adam and told him he had to come see what his little girl was up to now. We really shouldn't be surprised after 14 years, but she is still aweing and amazing us.

At the bottom. She loved it.
When I grow up I want to be just like her.

KSL Read Today

Read Today is a program that Red mountain and several Utah schools was a part of, to encourage kids to read. KSL adopted the program and has been pushing it as well by surprising schools with their helicopters landing at the schools and giving out books.  On Saturday, May 19 KSL teamed up with Tuacahn and honored all of their members. We took the girls out and are so glad we did it was amazing.
As we got there we signed in and the girls were given medals and tote bags full of books.

Then we headed to the amphitheater where we got free popcorn and water and then were treated with a sneak preview from Aladdin. Aladdin and Jazmin came out and did the magic carpet ride scene, singing "A Whole New World" while flying over our heads. It was awesome.

Then we had a private concert by "The Piano Guys." I love these guys, they are so talented and so entertaining. They put on an amazing concert and performed about 10 songs. Jon played the piano with his hands, feet, elbows and nose. It was great for both the adults and kids.

Afterwards we had to buy a CD and meet and get their autographs.

The girls and Steve.
They were so nice they each signed the girls, medals, bags and the CD.

Year-End School Stuff

Calli had her year end band concert. This will most likely be her last. Even though she's enjoyed it,she says she's done with band and didn't sign up for it next year. It's been a lot of fun watching her play and progress.

Sadie served on the Red Mountain Student Council this year and had a student council program.
She had a speaking part and talked about doing the RMES News Flash.

They were each presented with a certificate and a plaque. She has really enjoyed it.

Sadie also had her "Give Me Liberty" program.
This is one of my favorites. I love this program. The 5th grade students pass off things like the 50 states, the presidents, the symbols of Utah, the flag and the nation, the Declaration, and the Gettysburg Address etc. There are 12 things that they can pass off,  it is such an undertaking that these kids take on. It took all year and plenty of late nights along with creative games and songs for Sadie to complete it, but she did it.  I am sooo proud of her.

She was presented with a  trophy at her 5th grade graduation.

Way to go Sadie.
I can't believe I'm only going to have one left in elementary. I will have three kids in three different schools next school.

Calli received a exclusive invite to attend the SCMS Honor Night.  As we walked in on a red carpet we were greeted with claps and cheers.  Then led to the auditorium where they presented and honored the students in SCMS that achieved greatness while at the school... High Honor roll, National Junior Honor Society, student ambassadors, high test scores etc. Calli was honored as a honor student with a 3.8 GPA or higher.

Shaking the principal and vice principals hands, receiving her certificate and walking by the SC.
Way to go Calli so proud of you and all your hard work!

Gentry also had a readers cafe where we went into her class and listened to her read us a book as we snacked on cookies. Sadie also had a 5th grade movie night where we went and watched the movie that  she wrote, directed, and starred in with other kids in her class. And Gentry and Sadie also had several field trips. Cotton days, water days at the park, ice blocking down the schools hills, laser tag, swimming at Sand Hollow etc.

What a crazy busy month, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love watching my children succeed and achieve. Way to go girls, I'm so proud of you.

I also once again decorated a teachers door for teacher's appreciation and then Stacy and I got together and made teacher gifts and leis for my nephew's graduation.

Candy and Money Lei I made for Tavin

Money Lei Stacy made for Tavin

On Sunday, Tavin graduated from Seminary. The same night as the Eclipse of 2012.
Leave it to my family to skip out of the graduation for a minute to check it out.
My Family outside of the stake center taking a peek.
The best part was it was my dad who left first, followed quickly by most of his posterity. HeHe Then we all had to sneak back in one at a time so we didn't cause havoc.
Way worth it though, it was awesome!

Afterwards we all went to dinner at Pasta factory.

Good food, good company, what more could you ask for?

Piano, Dance & Soccer!

The month of May always brings with it the end to all the girls activities they have been doing all year.  Soccer Season ended for Calli and Gentry, we had several dance competitions and recitals for Sadie and Calli and Sadie had their Piano recital.

PIANO RECITAL:
This year their recital was at my cousins home. What a beautiful setting.
Calli and Sadie together before the recital.

Calli!
Calli played "Medieval Festival'

Sadie!
Sadie played a song called "A day at the Carnival"
They did fantastic job and it was a great night.
After the recital we went to the park and ate leftovers from Tyson and Lacey's luncheon earlier that day. Tyson and Lacey were married one year ago today and went back to the temple on their first anniversary to be sealed for time and all eternity.  They looked so happy. The spirit was so strong. I have never felt the presence of someone so strongly before than I felt Adam's mom there that day!  It was a great day!

SOCCER:
This year I (along with Terry) got to be Gentry, Jantzyn and Hallee's soccer coaches. It was so much fun. We had such a great little team.  By the end of the season we were still undefeated.

Gentry was so lucky to have played with two of her cousins and loved every minute of it.

Here we are giving the other team a cheer after the game.

Calli had her last game of the season as well.

She loves these girls, they have become some of her best friends.

DANCE:
Sadie had three dance competitions and one recital.  This competition was in Cedar so we made a girls day out of it. Stacy, Kassi, Gina, Bailey, Sadie and I, all drove up to the competition together.

In between dances we took the girls for a quick bite to eat and then back for more dancing.
They did really well, they got 1st or 2nd place in each of their dances at each of the competitions.

 Year-End Recital

Table Display set up in the foyer with the pictures of all the dancers that are on the E-Teams.
Their year end recital was great. We had to be there for a couple hours for a dress rehearsal and then left for about 30 minutes to eat dinner and then rushed back for the performance.
Stacy and I thought we were so brilliant when we saved our seats with toilet paper and band aids.
Sadie danced in 7 different dances.

The three cousins that danced that night. (Grandma Marilee also danced)
Sadie, Kassi and Trasen. Sadie and Trasen were in the same hip hop class. They had a lot of fun!

After the recital we went to Ice berg for a late night ice cream. After which Ben gave rides on his motorcycle.
