Disneyland or Bust!

Poor Gentry, being the caboose of the family can sometimes be so hard. As Calli and Sadie were running out the door again together leaving Gentry behind she was left sad and disappointed. Sadie texted "Is Gentry okay?" I texted back "Yea, we are going to go to Disneyland" Sadie texted back "Send pictures"...so we did. We went to the park and had a Disneyland adventure.  Calli and Sadie loved the pictures we kept sending them.

 Exhausted from our busy day.
Walking back to the "hotel"
 Jacuzzi fun at the "hotel"
We are total dorks but it took her mind off of being left behind AND we had so much reenacting a typical day at Disneyland.

Red Mountain!

The first Saturday of the summer, we took the opportunity to hike the Red Mountain as a family!
 Heading out on our adventure
Walking to the base of the mountain.
On the way up Gentry kept saying "My knee hurts, I have to go to the bathroom" (Quoting Russell from the movie UP) and then she laid down on this rock and said she couldn't go anyway further. Good thing she found some more energy because this was only a 1/4 of the way.

View of our house from the first ledge
 Taking a break.
Our fearless leader and pack mule.
 Sadie taking in the view.
After the "first ledge" and before the "sugar bowl" there are a couple of shear cliffs to get up. The girls did great. They dogs...not so much. We had to put a rope around them and hoist them up.
Another break and snacks at the sugar bowl.
My view. I was usually taking up the rear of the pack.
Right before the top there are sand dunes. Which are really fun to stop and play in but being that close to the top and tired it can be so hard to trudge through them.
Sadie and Calli can make any situation better and entertaining.
We made it to the top and to the infamous tree! These kids are such cool, tough kids, they are my rock stars.
"Mom, take a picture of us falling off this cliff"
 Family Selfie
View of Ivins from the top.
St. George Temple in the distance
 Time for more snacks...
 and a little karate kid.
Relaxing and enjoying the view. We played around on top for about an hour before heading back down.
We hiked over to more sand dunes on the way.
Calli pretending to be stuck on the rock so Sadie would come to her rescue.
 Nature and Yoga
Calli and Sadie becoming one with Nature.
Stopping at the sugar bowl on the way back down.
What a fun adventure we had. It was a little harder than I had remembered when we climbed to the top 6 years ago but we did it.  The weather was perfect and the girls kept us entertained the entire time with all their funny antics and sayings.  I love my Family and our adventures together!

Dance Recital!

May 20, 2014
Sadie had her year-end Dance Recital.
All ready to go and hopefully, the last time we have to do the
"bump, sock bun" hair-do.  It's been so stressful this year getting her hair just right for each performance. It would take us about an hour to get her ready. We would tease each time as we were getting her ready "please let the bump angels be with us today."
 Sadie during rehearsal.
Sadie watching as the other dancers practice during rehearsal.
Sadie after the recital with all her awards. Flowers from dad, Certificate for 3.8 GPA and shirt for dancer of the month.
Sadie and her biggest fans and
supporters. Great job Sadie. Love ya.

Club Soccer Ends

Calli had her last 2 Bomber's games. She played in her last regular game and then for the younger Bomber's team because they were lacking in players.
It was a beautiful night.
She had a great game. During one play, Gooch, the goalie had come out of the box and missed the ball, Calli was right behind her and kicked it out, only to be headed right back in towards the goal, We all knew that it was going to go in when literally out of nowhere the ball came flying out of the goal and there was Calli standing in the middle of the goal having just saved the goal by seconds. We were all on our feet screaming. At half-time the team chanted MVP, MVP to Calli. It was a great save. Also, the head guy over all of the club association was at the game and after watching Calli make that play he walked over to Terry and asked "Who is #26?" Callister Peterson, that's who!!!
It's a dang good thing she had a great game too, because Damon and a couple of his friends decided to come watch. They were too cool to hang with all us parents and went to cheer from the other side.

Next up...High school soccer!
