The Zoo!

We have sooo many stuffed animals in our house that they are taking over the place. So when I saw this idea on Pinterest,  it was love at first sight... and I knew just the man to pull it off.
He got right to work, drawing up plans, measuring, buying the materials and building it.

Gentry helping with the painting.

The finished project before vinyl.

Completed Project with Vinyl that say's "THE ZOO-Please don't feed the animals"
Oh, my goodness, how cute is that.  Adam you're amazing! It's even cuter than the one on pinterest.

Calli Soccer!

I love Soccer Season!
Calli in her warm-ups with "dragons" on her sleeve and "Calli" on her hood.

And of course the #2.

Calli is a team captain.
Here she is before the game with her other two team captains, the refs and the opposing teams captains flipping a coin to see who gets to kick off.

Team huddle before the game.

Calli starting out as a forward and kicking off the ball.
Did I mention that I love Soccer Season!

Spring Break!

Spring Break March 2012
I love our menu board for the week that Sadie wrote.
It was true too, I don't think I cooked once that entire week.
Instead we...
went to the "spinny park" with cousins and Bangs (no pictures taken)
played at the sand dunes with Stouts and Maxwells.

Went to Anti-gravity with again with cousins.

And skim boarding with cousins.

Calli was a pro.

Sadie enjoyed basking in the sun.

While Gentry enjoyed playing in the mud.

I loved sitting on the shore in the shade of my umbrella chatting with Stacy, watching teh the kids have a ball and watching the "Blue Angels" fly over while practicing for the air show that weekend.

We also celebrated St. Patrick's day with a big cousin sleepover,

A rainbow trail in the morning lead to Lucky Charms and

Calli's lovely St. Patricks Day attire.

We also spent the week going in and visiting my grandma at the Red Cliffs home while my mom and dad were  Israel for 9 days.  (I loved waking up each morning and reading the texts from my mom, dad and Brandon about all their adventures from each day: Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Garden of Gethsemane, Dead Sea, The Garden Tomb etc.)

The only thing we didn't do that the girls wanted too, was go camping. But they improvised.

Hanging out in the 5th wheel, watching movies and eating popcorn.

I also spent a few days that week helping Ronda and Amy plan a Retirement Party for Virginia. She has worked as a Secretary for Johansen Pools for 10 years and was forced to retire due to health problems. We planned a big party with all the employees and their spouses and some of their vendors and clients. We had great food, great company and a great turn out.  I made this banner for it as well that I had to share...

Thanks again pinterest!
What a GREAT Spring Break!

Blooming Flower!

It has been so much fun watching Calli bloom this year.
She loves shopping for clothes and coming home and modeling them.

She loves doing her hair in fun, beautiful ways.

She loves painting her finger nails.

She loves clothes, accessories, jewelry, shoes etc.

And she loves photo shoots.
She has become such a gorgeous young woman inside and out. She is such a good, nice and caring friend. At young women's the other night every one was asked to pull a name out of a jar and write something nice about that person and then they were read out loud. Calli's said that she is such a great friend, is always nice and never says anything negative about anyone.  She is such a good girl. She loves the gospel she is getting so close to completing her personal progress and can't wait for seminary next year.  I can often find her listening to church music and reading her scriptures.
Love you Girlie!

Proud Moment!

Calli's first soccer game of the season was awesome. It was one of those games where the teams were well matched and it got pretty heated at times. You can tell it's a great game when the yellow cards start coming out.  It was a pretty physical game but Calli doesn't give an inch she fights for that ball every time.  During one play, there was a swarm of about 5 girls all going after the ball, it was so crowded that you couldn't really see what was going on or who had the ball after what seemed like forever Calli came out of the pack getting elbowed and pushed but WITH the ball. It was so cool.  Towards the end of the game it was 1-0 for the other team. We had about a minute left in the game when we got fouled in the goalie box which means we get a  penalty kick and chance to tie the game with just one of our players and their goalie.  We about came off our seats when we heard Nick (Calli's coach) yell from the side lines "Calli, take the kick."  You could see her shaking as she walked up to the line.  I don't know who was more nervous Calli or Adam and I.  She gave it all she had and kicked the ball to the left side of the net just like they had practiced in drills. The goalie dove and caught it.  Calli didn't end up making the goal but bless her heart I was more proud of her then watching her attempt that shot then I would have been had she made it.  Of course, Calli didn't see it that way and was upset with herself. But with much praise from her team mates and family she is fine, looks at it as a lesson learned and is looking forward to her next time "on the line."  Way to go Calli. You are such a great example to all who know you.
