Little Mermaid!

The girls summer started with a bang by doing one of their favorite summer traditions...going to Tuacahn with Grandma and Grandpa Losee.  This was the 7th years that grandma, grandpa and the grand kids have been doing this and from the reviews I got,  it was the best one yet. They love it and all the new technical aspects. One of their favorite parts is staying after to get autographs and pictures.

Sebastian and Flounder.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

Dirt Farm!

One of my favorite summer traditions is... The Dirt Farm.
June 10th -12th 2011
All packed up ready to go.
We decided to drive through Zions this year on the way. It was gorgeous.

We even saw mountain goats.

The Dirt Farm. This is luxurious camping, complete with running water, bathrooms, showers, electricity and the newest addition this new 4-room/4-bathroom + laundry room facility and...

playground.

Each grandchild got their own washcloth to use.

There was plenty to do for  all ages.  We had a shooting competition. Calli getting ready to aim at the targets below.
And of course, 4-wheelers. Sadie was a pro and loved this little pink one.

Calli taking uncle bud for a ride.

And Gentry helping Adam drive.

There was a money pit for the little ones.

Plus a fish pond. Calli, Ashlyn and Bryn were too old for the fish pond this year, so they got to be the ones to run it. They loved it.

Sadie waiting to see what she catches.

As always there were plenty of games for the kids and

the adults.

And what's a camping trip without smores, cobblers, and visiting around the fire.

And of course the accidents.  This year it was Sadie's turn. She was running to the pavilion from our tent and got clotheslined by my brothers tent. We couldn't help but laugh.
We had such a fabulous time. Dirt Farm camping can sure spoil a person.

(The next few pictures are for my brother Terry.)

Girls Camp!

Our family got home from Dirt Farm camping on Sunday June 12th just in time for me to do some laundry and pack back up for Calli and I to head to Girls Camp on Tuesday June 14th.
This year was ward level. We went to a nice camping spot in Enterprise, by New Castle. The Gublers that own the land are in our ward and was  happy to let us go there. It was a nice place with water, bathrooms, a pavilion and the girls favorite...showers. This year we had 2 camp directors, 2 Jr. camp leaders (2 of my seniors that are leaving) 2 hiking coordinators, and ...a Camp Cook.  Let me just say, we were spoiled and ate pretty darn good at girls camp.

We took full advantage of New Castle Reservoir. The first day we went and did some fun challenges and games with the canoes and sail boats.

I heard that the leaders won the sail boat competition. I arrived a little later to the reservoir, having had a extremely sore tooth ache, I headed to the dentist in Enterprise as they headed to the reservoir. Turns out I need a root canal. But they were able to give me some meds to keep be happy while at camp. I never had another problem with it the whole rest of camp...what a blessing. That night we had the Gooch's come up as our special guest speakers. They did a phenomenal job. They talked about Sister Gooch's experiences as a child living in the killing fields in Cambodia for 4 years. There were very few dry eyes.  Later, we played a getting to know you game and figured out every one's personality's. It was soo much fun and one of my favorite parts.
The following day the hike coordinators took the girls on their hike that ended back at the reservoir for paddle boats.  That night was skit night.

The Laurels and Mia Maids doing their skit.

The Beehives.

and the Leaders.

We even got our faithful priesthood leaders in on it. Here they are as missionaries with their cute little backpacks, name tags and toilet paper ties.
On Thursday the Bishopric came up for the day. We played a fun and intense game of Faith Factor, then had some spiritual messages and the bishopric did a Faith Walk.  The girls sang the song "We Believe" by Jenny Phillips. They get me every time they sing this song. It was so powerful. We took a break for dessert before we started our testimony meeting, when we got hit hard with a rain and wind storm. It tore through the camp collapsing several tents, bending poles and ripping the material. After a few minutes of discussion the decision was made to get the girls off the mountain. Everybody dove in and worked together. Within an hour we had the camp completely down and packed. (most of it done by lantern and flashlights) We arrived home around 11:30pm. The next morning they (Calli and I had to be to Cedar the next morning for Summer Games. Her team had already been there since Wednesday.  They ended up winning 4-2. It was a great game and Calli played the best I've ever seen her. It was way fun) met to go through all the stuff that had just been thrown and made plans to continue our camp and testimony meeting the following Wednesday night for mutual.
All in all we had a great time, lots of fun, games and laughter mixed with tears and spiritual moments. It was the best Girls Camp Ever.

Father's Day!

I love Father's day. It's a chance for me and the girls to completely spoil Adam rotten.
Here's the girls are giving Adam a foot and head massage. He He
Happy Father's Day to a dad that is one in a million. We love you!

FINDING NEMO!

The long awaited day was finally here. On May 28, 2011 The Neighborhood Kids Production Company performed "Finding Nemo"
The cast.
Nicki Craig, Jordan Gosik, Megan Bang, Mykinlee Brook, Zach Gosik, Emma Borrowman, Savanna Bang, Trasen Peterson, Hallee Larsen, Ashley Bang, Calli Peterson, Maddie Bang, Porter Cook, Mia Cook, Bailey Cook, Kassi Peterson, Annie Bess, Gabe Cook, Gentry Peterson, Lexi Bang, and Sadie Peterson.
Sadie as Dory, (She was such a cute Dory, it fit her personality perfectly) Gentry as Nemo, and Calli as Marlin. They had two different casts with different kids playing different parts. Sadie played Dory and Nemo, Gentry was Nemo and Squirt, and Calli was the Director, Marlin and ended up playing Dory at the last minute.
The day of the play. It turned into a pretty big production. The girls work so hard to make the play perfect so we try to make the day a big deal.

The Decorations.  They also had a "Snack Shack" set up with all kinds of goodies and raffle baskets. All the proceeds will go towards the next production (which I hope won't be for a while, I think they could all use a break) They ended up earning $90.00.
More decorations and cast members.

The Boat
The cast members behind the scenes getting ready for their big debut.

Calli-Marlin and Gentry-Nemo. Marlin teaching Nemo how to go through the  anemonemone.

The "Fish Tank Gang"

Dory and Marlin jumping on the jellyfish before Dory gets stung.

The turtles singing "Go with the Flow"
Intermission: during intermission the cast members showcased their talents through dance, song, karate, violin etc. This is Sadie and Kassi doing a dance they made up to "Who woke Snow White up?"

Gentry singing "Where are you Christmas?" I was very impressed with Gentry for singing a solo and doing her other parts so well. Sadie and Calli also sang "In the beginning" together and then Sadie sang "God bless the broken road" with Hallee.
After both plays they had a cast party with swimming, hot dogs, chips and drinks that Calli planned.
She also sewed all the costumes, choreographed the dances, held practices twice a week, sent note homes with kids, made t-shirt for the cast, and made all the props. She was a fantastic director. At the end of the shows she was presented a "Directors Chair" from the cast (Thank you Stacy) She also got flowers from Adam and I and Calli (with the help from grandma) presented me with some beautiful flowers. What a great day.  They all did such an amazing job. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I was so extremely proud and even got a little teary. I am so blessed to be the mother of such amazing girls. Great job Calli, Sadie, Gentry and the whole cast of Finding Nemo!!
