Dance, Dance, Dance!

The last two weekends have been busy with Sadie's dance performances with her Embrace dance team with Premier Dance.
Her team warm-up's with her name on them.

and also her position as secretary on her sleeve.
She was also "Dancer of the Month" for February 2012 and received this darling shirt.

Love the back!

Sadie in her Jazz Costume.

On February 10th she performed her jazz routine at the Snow Canyon High School Basketball half time show.

Sadie in her Hip Hop Outfit.

The following night she performed her hip hop routine at the Dixie College basketball game half time show.

Sadie in her Lyrical dress.

The next weekend she performed her lyrical dance at the Rebelette Review. Along with....

Grandma Marilee.  Marilee joined the Prime Time Dance Team at Premier in January after her kids gave her 10 free weeks of dance classes for Christmas. This was the first night they have performed together so the whole family came out to watch Marilee, Sadie and Kassi.  It was really fun.

Snow!

We finally saw winter come to Ivins.
As we were getting ready for bed the girls saw the first few flakes fall and were so excited to see it stick.
Before we knew it Sadie and Gentry were geared up and heading out side to play in the snow.
This was taken at 10:30pm on a school night.

Sundays!

It is not unusual to see this...
on Sunday mornings! Adam helping me get the girls ready. He's a wiz with the straightener. HaHa
Or this...
Sunday's are the perfect opportunity to work on Faith in God and Personal Progress with each of the girls.
or this...
Homework crunch time before Monday. Adam is the go-to guy for math. I can usually handle everything else.

Getaway!

Everyone always tells me 'Don't blink cause as soon as you do, your children will be grown."  I try so hard not to blink but even so they are still growing.  I love having my children at home and spending time with my family.  So every once in a while I have these little panic attacks when I  realize they will be leaving home before I know it. Adam has learned that the only quick fix for me is to spend lots of quality time with my family. So we planned a "Peterson-style Getaway" for the weekend.
We kidnapped the girls and went to Del Taco where we ate and the girls played. Then we ran to the $2 movie of Happy Feet 2.  Then off to check into our hotel.  We played around for a while, relaxed and got ready to go to dinner.  Our wait at Outback was a little long so we walked down the strip mall to look in some of the stores. Only to find out one of Calli's favorite stores was having a big $3 sale.  We looked around for a bit and then went to eat, promising we would go back.  After dinner we spent an hour shopping.  Adam is such a good "girl" dad. She is so patient and helps the girls look for sizes, holds on to their loot and gives his opinion.  After shopping, we went back to the hotel where the girls went swimming.

After swimming we came back to the room where they warmed up in the jetted tub.  Then we got showered and drove through Dairy Queen for a late night treat.  The next morning we slept in and went down for breakfast. Awe! What a great weekend getaway with just us....just what the doctor ordered.

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentines Day 2012
My cute Valentine mantel!

Valentines was on a Tuesday this year and I had to teach that day.  After teaching my first class I came into the house and found these sitting on the counter with a card and cookies for the girls. He had snuck in and set it all up.  We did manage to squeeze in a lunch date and ice cream during my classes that day.  I got him some new, much needed pillows for our bed and then made him a "52 reasons why I love you" book out of a deck of cards. (Thank you Pinterest)

The girls woke up that morning to a trail of Hershey kisses leading them down to the kitchen where they each had a Valentine surprise waiting for them.

A pink bowl, spoon, and 2 mini boxes of their favorite cereal with a note that said: "We CEREALSLY love you. Happy Valentines Day, Love mom and dad (Again, idea from pinterest)

Sadie even got a special Valentine from a boy in her class named Tomas.  She'll be mad at me for me putting this on here. She's kinda embarrassed about it and doesn't like him in that way but she is such a tender sweetheart that she didn't want to hurt his feelings. So when he handed them to her and asked her to be his Valentine she said yes!

That night we had romantic Valentine dinner for 5 with Papa Murphy's heart shaped pizzas.
It was a great day full of the people I love most!

Super Bowl!

After being asked by several people if we were having a Super Bowl party we decided to oblige.  We had Adam's family, my family and few friends over.
We had lots of yummy food.

And of course the game and commercials.

While all the adults were enjoying the game the kids were having fun making up their own kind of fun.

They would take turns putting Troys harness on themselves and then pull each other around the yard. it was hilarious to watch.
It was a fun day spent with everyone!

January Fun!

After we got everyone feeling better, we did manage to have some fun in January as well.
We celebrated my mom's birthday and my dad retirement and leasing the tire store with the whole family at Pizza Factory.

We had a fun time roasting hot dogs and making smores out by the fire pit.

and of course, dancing around the fire pit.

Glow in the dark Miniature golf at Laser Mania!

Gentry spent it by just being too cool for words. Quite the life, sitting with her legs up, sunglasses on, eating pizza and watching TV. She cracks us up!

More photo shoots with the girls playing with the camera. I think this picture of Sadie is so pretty.
And a few family game nights!
So even though much of January was spent under the weather we did find so time to have fun!

Our January!

Each year as soon as the winter season's hit I start pumping my girls full of Vitamin C in hopes of the flu skipping over our house. It usually works most years, but this year our house got hit.  It took us about 2 weeks for it to finally run its course and leave.  Calli ended up missing an entire week of school. The first half of the week she was so sick and just laid in my bed all day and was happy to let me serve her.  Her temp got up to 103.5 before it finally broke. It got pretty scary a few times. Thanks goodness for modern medicine and father's blessings.  Sadie ended up catching it from Calli and became sick the same week and missed 2 days of school.  So two of the days I had Calli and Sadie both home together all day...talk about an adventure.  They were too sick to go school, but felt well enough to entertain themselves. They were so tired of being cooped up all day that they got pretty creative in their entertainment. When I wasn't being annoyed it actually was pretty funny.  Gentry ended up getting it as well and missed a day of school the next week.  There were days when I wondered if it would ever leave, but it finally did and without catching either Adam or I which was a huge blessing.
