Adam's last living grandparent passed away August 18th, 2012. She is his mom's mom. She lost her husband 42 years ago and never remarried. She raised her family of 7 as a single mom and has looked forward to the day that she would be reunited with the love of her life. She had 31 grandchildren and 101 great-grandchildren. It was bitter sweet. Bitter because she was such an amazing woman and will be so missed and sweet because she is now reunited with her husband and her daughter.

We drove up late Tuesday night after Calli's game and stayed the night in a hotel at Thanksgiving point and then drove to Woods Cross, Wednesday morning for the funeral. It was good to see all his aunts, uncles and cousins again. They are such great people. We can always count on laughing with Connie and Suz around...even at funerals. One of my most memorable moments during the funeral was during Susie's talk. She talked about how hard it was for grandma to raise 7 children plus a foster daughter all on her own. She told stories of some of the trouble her brothers got into, not making it any easier on their mom. Then she said "My mom was the kind of mom than when we faced trials or made the wrong decision she would let us face the consequences so we could learn from it but she never let us faced them alone. She would walk with us every step of the way. On several occasions she journeyed with some of her children to the depths of hell and fought the adversary herself for the return of the souls of her children." I just LOVED that. I hope that I can be that kind of a mother that can let my children learn and grow on their own but someone that they KNOW no matter what I have their back and I will always walk with them and fight for them. It was a great service. After the funeral we drove to Payson for the burial. (Grandpa J. is buried there) The relief society made the family members that would traveling to Payson, sack lunches for the ride...I thought that was so cute and so brilliant. They were definantly appreciated.

It's so weird to see this picture without mom standing there next to them all.
After the cemetery we drove past the Payson hospital, where Adam was born and then over to the house he lived in until he was 4 before they moved to St. George.

I can totally see 4 little dark skinned boys running around this front yard in their underwear.

This was the original Chocolate Factory. Lyman started one in Payson long before the one in St. George was ever created. Adam has memories of getting huge chocolate Easter bunnies in their Easter baskets each year.
