Started out the month with Sadie getting her License.
She really is a good driver and I'm pretty calm when she's behind the wheel.
That night she drove for the first time by herself. (except for occasionally driving to YW down the street)
And she's off! She drove to Rachel's and picked her up and then drove to the high school for a basketball game.
We've made a new year resolution to have FHE every Monday. I told the girls I don't care who shows up as long as they do. We had a crew and it was so much fun. They all participated in the lesson and then helped read scriptures before they all headed out again .
Sadie and Kada built a water tower with cups. Every other cup was filled with water to make it more sturdy. They almost made it to the ceiling before Kada accidentally hit it and it tumbled.
Gentry has Adam's mind and the love of building and making things. She has Begun to love puzzles. Something her and Adam love to do together.
At Gentry's scrimmage one day we saw hot air balloons. They flew right over our heads and landed in a field next to ours. The girls had a bit of a hard time focusing on the game. It was fun!
Calli was heading to her friend Emma's house one night. Sadie wanted the truck so Sadie and her friends jumped in the back to ride to Emma's house a few blocks away so they could drive it back. Calli slammed on her brakes due to a stop sign she didn't see and Sadie went flying, slamming her head into the tool box.
She ended up with a small cut, a bruised cheek, a black eye and broken blood vessel in her eye. Luckily it was Sadie and not one of her friends and luckily it was not any worse. I think they both learned their lesson.
With Calli's papers submitted (another post) I was finally able to set up my Missionary Corner. I LOVE it!
With Sadie now driving she is responsible for getting home for her curfew. One of her first nights driving she came home late. We asked her what she thought her consequence should be and after thinking about it for a minute she said "Swirly?" Adam and I looked at each other and laughed and said " that's way better then what we came up with." So...
Sadie got her punishment and so far hasn't been late since:)
Driving to school one morning we had just picked up Daisy and was headed to the high school on Lava Flow Dr when we saw an accident. It had just happened so there were no emergency vehicles there yet. We slowed down and I asked them if they recognized anyone. They looked and both yelled at the same time "It's Rachel, pull over" I pulled over and they got out and stayed with Rachel for the rest of the time. She had swerved and over corrected and went off the road and then her car tipped. Her and her brother had to climb out the passenger side.
The three of them hugging. They stayed the whole time, when the police showed up, her mom and the tow truck. Rachel and her brother were fine just a little shooken up. Sadie and Daisy went back to school and Rachel went home. Later that day in the news it said that there was an accident involving 4 teenagers because they were on the scene the whole time. It was kinda funny.
