Father's Day Weekend!

With two consecutive camping trips coming up in July, we decided not to go camping this weekend but with Cains in Brian Head at their land we decided to go up for the day on Saturday and help them clear out some rocks, trees and debris.
Ryan on the tractor while we cleared out trees and roots.
I moved this huge rock all by myself.
Good thing I've been lifting those 5 lbs weights lately. Haha!
After all of our hard work we did some playing and went for a ride.

It is always so pretty up there in the mountains.
Every time we go, I get bit by the bug to buy land.
We went to a gorgeous lookout of Cedar Breaks...and had quite the adventure.

While taking a selfie, we heard Jenni scream "Adam"
We turned around just in time to see the razor rolling toward the edge of the cliff.
My first instinct was to jump in front of it and try to stop it but I didn't even know if it was possible. I so happy to see Adam jumping in the drivers side and slamming on the brake.
Our hearts pounded for a few minutes afterwards. The razor was rolling at pretty slow pace when Adam got to it, but under any other circumstances it could have been a different outcome.  Had we parked any closer to the edge than we had, we might not have got to it in time, Had Jenni been out with us taking selfies and not over by the machines, we may not have even seen it until it was too late, had we wandered further away from the razor than we did, Adam might have not made it back in time and then the unthinkable, had Noah or Charleigh (who were running all over) been in front of the razor it could have been bad or if Adam had tried to jump in not being able to stop it and got hung up in the razor and could not get back out. I hate thinking about what could have happened. So blessed that we learned our lesson to check and double check that the razor is in park the easy way...never a dull moment.

Checking out what could have happened had it actually gone over the edge.
This was my instagram Father's Day Tribute to Adam

Sunday, we went to church, came home and did Come Follow Me, opened presents and then worked on dinner. We had invited the grandparents over for Dutch oven. Adam got new shorts, since he turned all his nice ones into work shorts, bags for the razor, folding shovel for the razor and a fishing license.
Me and my dad after dinner!
Me, my dad and a photo bomber. Haha! Happy Father's Day!!

Grassy Flats

Another Camping Trip in the books!
June 12-14, 2020
Finally had my whole crew with us this time, so we rented Adam's friends razor so we would have enough seats for everyone. We went to Grassy Flats by Pine Valley with the Cains.
I love experiencing new places to camp. We were greeted by a herd of cows when we pulled up and each morning. :)
Calli and Gentry going to go check them out.
Late night "lighted" corn hole tournament.

Our camping site.
Adam trying to get close enough to the trailer to put gas in the razor...don't mind the bush.
Filling up. It's so convenient having a pump on the trailer.
Sadie's all cozy in Austin's hoodie with short sleeves...they thought this was so funny.
Kim Kardashian ready to ride.
The couples in one razor and me, Adam and Bo in other, with Cains in their own.

An old pioneer hotel
The crew minus Calli, she had gone to find a tree ;)

Checking out the trail up ahead...turns out we charted or own course as far as we could and then had to turn around and go back as we hit a dead end.
We rode for over three hours all over Pine Valley Mountain. We went to Grass Valley and over to Pinto. We came back dirty from head to toe. We were covered in sand. We had some friends (the Mecham's) coming up for a ride later that day. We ate lunch and all the "big" kids decided to shower and stay at camp relaxing, watching a movie and playing games while we headed back out on another three hour ride.
Cow in the road.
Cool Tree. We headed back over to Pinto where Ryan was trying to find an old Iron mining town. Again we hit a dead end...
but this time instead of turning around we went right through it with screams and squeals of delight from everyone.
We got caked in mud as we sped through the creek trying to not get stuck. This ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. So fun!!
Great things happen when men and mountains meet.
That smelly mud all over us was worth it as we found the mining town.
It was pretty cool. This was an old charcoal kiln.

After the mining town we rode over to New Castle reservoir
and then Mountain Meadow.
We made it back to a hungry crew...Navajo Tacos for the win.

We had a couple deer wander through camp.

That night we sat around the fire making s'more's with everyone.

The next morning, the kids took off a few hours before Adam and I, so I had to get a quick picture with this motley crew before they left. It was so much fun having all of us together for a couple nights in the mountains. Love  my crew!
