Our Camping Trip~June 21-24, 2012

This was our first camping trip of the summer and the first time we got to take out the trailer since we bought  it from dad Peterson at the end of summer last year, so we were all a little excited.
We went to our usually spot in Enterprise. We have been coming to this exact camp ground since Calli was 2 years old. It always brings back old memories and we love making new ones.
Calli 14, Sadie 11, and Gentry 8 years old.

The girls got right to work moving their stuff in and making it home. They even brought hangers so they could hang their clothes up in the closets.

Of course, one of our first adventures was to head to the reservoir. We took Dad Peterson's boat again and had a ball. Adam and Gentry going for a pedal.

After a while Calli and Sadie decided they could do it by themselves.  It was windy that day so we were a little worried they wouldn't be able to control it and we'd be swimming out after them to pull them back in, but that did great and handled it really well.  Calli and Gentry went out as well and made up a dance with their oars...very entertaining.
Sadie and I hanging on the shore together.

Calli fishing

Sadie fishing and throwing sticks to Troy so he won't get her fishing line,

and Gentry entertaining herself and me with her sweet dance moves.

Over the next 2 days we went to the reservoir 3 times. On the first day Adam caught a fish and then on the last day all three girls caught their own fish. It was so cool. They each reeled one in within an hour of each other.

Calli caught her's out on the boat with Adam.

Sadie wasn't having much luck on the shore so after seeing Calli's success she went out in the boat with Adam and within a few minutes pulled one in herself.

Gentry who was more interested in swimming and "dancing" decided to give it a try as well. She went out in the boat with Adam but didn't have much luck. They came back on shore and Adam cast her a line out just to occupy her while he started cleaning up and sure enough she pulled in her first fish.

Adam helping her get it off her line. I love this picture, look at that smile, she was so excited.

Calli was all over the gutting process. She helped Adam with the first two being a little hesitant to cut off it's head but willing to do the rest, but then decided she wanted to try the other 2 all my herself and she did. This is the part that she takes after Adam. I have never gutted a fish nor do I ever want to.  Sadie and Gentry were happy to just watch...they take after me.

We also enjoyed making ice cream,
(the girls rolling their ice cream down the rocks)

Playing games with cousins.
(Issac and Lindee and my mom and dad came up to visit, eat and play with us)

hiking and
 exploring,
On Friday, there was a Cougar sighting just one camp site over from ours, so after that the girls stayed pretty close to camp where we could see them at all times.

lots and lots of dancing to Justin Bieber and HSM in the trailer,

Playing Salon,
(Lately the girls have been wearing their hair in buns on top of their heads and they decided I needed one too. )
Playing with Troy
Gentry cuddling with Troy around the fire.
By the end of each day the girls were tuckered out. Gentry all snuggled up ready for bed. I got so spoiled having a trailer to camp in that I am now hooked,  I told Adam I may never sleep in a tent again.

Calli and Troy sleeping on the ride home.
I decided that camping is one of the best ways to unite a family. We had a great time and I loved spending that time with my family.

Swimming Lessons~Summer 2012

Gentry took swimming lessons again this year at Dixie College with Trasen and Hallee. Calli and Sadie came most of the days and hung out with Talen and Kassi and then we usually swapped kids around for the day.
Halle and Gentry waiting for their lesson to begin. I can't believe I forgot to get one of Trasen too.

Our little fish. Gentry loves the water.

Jumping off the boards. By the end of swimming lessons we was able to dive off of them. She did great and PASSED.  One more summer and she will be done as well.  Good job Bo!

Utah Summer Games!

Calli and her Dixie Dragon's soccer team played in the Utah Summer Games again this year. They had games Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Cedar City. Wednesday's game was late enough that Adam was able to get off and go with us. They won 3-0. Thursday and Friday my mom and dad spontaneously decided to join in on the fun. They borrowed Stacy's van and loaded it up. We had a full van with grandma, grandpa, me, Calli, Sadie, Gentry, Trasen and Kassi the first day and then Gentry and Trasen stayed at Stacy's the next day so we had Talen and Jaicelyn. It was quite an adventure.
Talen and Calli playing "throw the ball at the window and then catch it" in the van.

Sadie always rides in style.
Her, Kassi and Jaicelyn dancing in the back.

Calli modeling her "Captain" badge that she gets to wear during all the games.

The Dixie Dragons huddling and giving a cheer at the beginning of one of the games.
They played better than I have ever seen them play. They were playing hard and as a team. They won 2 out of 3 games, qualifying them to play in the Gold/Silver Medal game on Saturday.  Me, Adam and the girls drove up early that morning followed by my mom, dad and Kassi, again. They didn't want to miss this game. It was the most INTENSE game I have ever watched.  Adam's  heart was everywhere, I wanted to throw up and my mom couldn't even watch, she went wandering.  Everyone was on their feet and cheering.  By the end of the game it was tied 3-3. They went into two 5 minute overtimes in which no one scored so they went to a shoot-out.  Each team picked 5 players to shoot on the opposing goalie.  We made 3 of the 5 and the other team made 4....so close.  It was a great, hard fought game regardless and they came home with the silver medal.

Calli is so excited about her silver medal.

Calli and her 2 closest buddies on the team Ali McBride and Hannah Maybe.

And look at this fine hunk of a man I found standing in line for snow cones at the award ceremony...I had to hurry and snap this picture before he caught me...What a Stud!!
After the award ceremony we headed over to my nieces game that was playing in the Summer Games as well. What a fun but exhausting weekend.

Father's Day!

Adam woke up to chocolate chip pancakes and a few gifts from the girls. Some fishing stuff for our upcoming camping trip, a shirt, a bookmark, and a tie that they colored with fabric markers for him to wear to church that day. (Which he wore, proudly)
The girls also love to give Adam pedicures and manicures for Father's day. Adam asked Gentry if she wanted to cut his fingernails and she said sure and ran out of the room. She came back in wearing her swimming mask. She knows all to well how strong Adam's nails are and that they go flying. haha.

As soon as church let out we loaded up in the car and went to Pine Valley for the day. My mom had planned  for all us Losee's to go up and eat dinner and hang out. It just happened to turn out that Adam's dad had been camping up there and was still there, so we headed up a few hours before the Losee Crew so we could visit his dad and Marilee as well.  After an hour or so we met up with the Losee's.
We enjoyed lots of yummy food...

Watching the deer...
Playing ladder ball...

and volleyball...

playing baseball with the volleyball and sticks...
Walking on logs across the stream...

And just relaxing (Gentry and Jantzyn)
These two are always off on their own doing their own thing. It's so funny to watch them.
And playing star wars??? The grand kids just started having these light saber fights with sticks and pretty soon Ben was providing the background music and all the grand kids were jumping around, stabbing each other with their sticks while the adults watched and laughed...it was hilarious. Around 8pm the Losee's headed out after a fun filled day, we decided to swing by dad Peterson's camp again. Adam's brother and his family were there so we hing out until 11pm. We didn't get home until midnight.

My cute dad.
Happy Father's day to two of the greatest men I know, my dad and Adam.

Fun Family Home Evening!

We called the girls to Family Home evening and I just handed them the scriptures. They had to search and discover that there was a clue inside that lead them to their next clue. At each clue was another "scripture clue" that they had to look up and read to figure out their next clue and ways to "seek" Christ.
Calli, Sadie, Gentry and Kassi reading their scripture clue together.
Looking in the oven for one of the clues.

After about 14 clues they were led to this treasure chest.
(I have been working on this thing for about a year now and was so excited it was finally done)

Inside the chest is about 100 + items that all correlate with scripture stories...
(Scissors=Sampson, Dove=Christ's baptism, Pail= Rebekah at the well etc.) We are going to pull one item from the chest every night, look up the scripture that's connected to the item and read the scripture and then talk about each story individually as our nightly scripture study. My hope is that by the time we have gone through all the items they will be familiar with many of the stories in the scriptures. It turned out to be a lot of fun!
