Wednesday, October 14th 1st Round of Play-offs vs North Sanpete
We won 3-0 moving on to the 2nd round and playing Juan Diego.
Friday, October 17th vs Juan Diego
This was a HUGE game. Even more so than the State Game itself. We lost to Juan Diego last year during play-offs. We knew it would be a tough game to win but wanted it so bad.

It was one of the most intense and stressful games I have ever watched. It was a nail biter from the start to the finish. They are a tough, tough team. SC scored within the first 20 minutes of the game and were able to hold them off for another 50 minutes until they scored with 2 minutes left of the game...ugh, we were heading into another overtime...still tie heading into a double overtime....still tie...heading into a shootout....AGAIN. This was exactly how we lost to Juan Diego last year, in a shootout. Calli had told me the names of the 10 girls that would be kicking the PK's. She said she was one of them but didn't know if she was one of the first 5 or in the 2nd group So when they lined up and I saw that she was kicker #2 the nerves and tears began. I was soooo nervous. At that point I didn't care if they won as long as Calli made her shot. I knew she would blame herself and feel like she let her team down if she missed.

Calli and Sadie getting on the bus. I have loved that they got to have this season together.
This girl was such a trooper and great traveler. We were up north and back 3 different times within 2 weeks and she did amazing!
They fought hard and Calli had a great game but with every high comes a low. We came into This game knowing we could beat them and that it was our game to lose. By winning we would advance to play for State. We knew we could because we had won them during season. After a couple close calls it just didn't go our way. As the whistle blew ending the game, we were all in shock. To say the team was devastated would be an understatement. Calli just cried and cried. She was not ready for her senior year to be over. I'm so thankful for this team and the friendships and bonds they have with each other. Friends ships that will last way longer than just a soccer season. Together they were able to cry and laugh and come away with their heads held high as 4th in state...not too shabby!

After the game Chuck Stewart AKA Mr. Soccer told Calli that she was "The Best Defender in the State"
It has been such an amazing ride these past four years. So sad to see it come to an end but so excited for the new adventures coming our way. Way to go Calli!
