Band Concert!

Calli's final 7th grade Lava Ridge Band Concert. I love these concerts. It is so much fun to watch Calli bounce around from instrument to instrument.
Calli playing the cymbals.

And the bells.
And the big bass drum.
And Calli just looking really cool. They all wore sunglasses when they played "Mission impossible"

Great job Calli! So proud of you for all your hard work and dedication.

Premier Dance Recital!

On May 13th Sadie and Gentry had their final dance recital.
Gentry danced one dance to the song "April Showers" and then came out again for final bows.

Gentry dancing with her umbrella.
Sadie danced 5 dances.

What a fun night. Good job girls.  Sadie will be trying out for the performance team again for next year. Gentry is deciding whether she wants to take dance again or take a break. She's really enjoyed it, but most dance days she would have rather stayed home and played with friends. So we'll see what next year brings.

Gentry's first grade program!

Gentry along with her class and the other 1st graders had their year end program on May 17th.
They sang songs and acted out some of Aesops' fables.
Her bunny ears were so funny. They were bugging her the entire time, she kept trying to get them out of her way but they'd fall right back in front of her face.

Gentry waiting for her "part" in the program.

She was the Hare in the fable the "The tortoise and the hare" She hopped and bobbed all over the gym and...
down the aisles, where she stopped to rest and take a nap while the tortoise passed her. It was so cute. She and all the 1st graders did such a great job!

Indiana Jones!

With all the roads in Ivins still torn up while they work on the improvements, it has caused quite a mess. The intersection right by our house is the worst part with hills, dips, bumps and ledges. Even when taking it slow the car sways from side to side, hits pot holes and the girls bounce up and down in the backseat. It's quite an adventure getting home some days. Especially the other night...
The girls and I were driving home late and it was already dark. As we were driving we were listening to my "Disneyland playlist" on my I-pod. (yes, I have a playlist reserved strictly for Disneyland songs) Just as we were getting to the mess, the song for the Indiana Jones Ride came on.  With just our head lights to show the way, I sped up and sent the car cruising through all the bumps and jumps, down all the dips and up the hills, swerving and swaying as we went.  With the music blaring, the headlights shining and the car bouncing everywhere, it really felt like we were on the ride.  The girls laughter and squeals just made it that much more fun.  For about 10 seconds I was the coolest mom ever. My car's alignment is probably messed up and my shocks are probably shot, but for those 10 seconds, it was all worth it.

Book Report!

Sadie's county report.
Sadie did a report on Wasatch County. For the most part everything was done in class. I just had to buy the board and then Sadie and I cut out the letters and glued them on.  Adam and I stopped by to see her completed report. Awesome job Sad!!

Nemo!

The Finding Nemo play is taking over my house.
With just a couple weeks left, Calli has been busy with the final preparations on the costumes. I love watching the rewards from all their hard work and seeing it all come together in the final production and that they enjoy it and love every minute of it, but I will sure be glad when it's over.

Piano Recital!

Sadie and Calli had their Piano recital on May 9th.
They both did so well, we were very  proud of them.

They had it set up on a projector this year with their name and the song they played.

Calli playing her song.  Their recitals are at a beautiful Lutheran church that they have easy access too which will explain the cross in the background.
Great job girls!

New Posts!

Here I sit on one of my favorite holidays, Mother's day! I've been spoiled all day with gifts, cards and yummy food. So now I'm updating my blog while Adam entertains the kids.  I've been putting it off because for one we've been so busy and two I've taken alot of pictures. So I'm trying to tackle it now while being spoiled and given the time, so enjoy many, many updates!!

Field Trip!

I was able to go on a field trip to Snow Canyon State Park with Gentry and all the 1st graders. I hadn't been on a school bus since middle school. It was fun even with 100 7 year olds.
Gentry and I and her little friend Savana on the bus.

Gentry getting ready to go on a hike.

Resting.

Gentry with her class and teacher Ms. Haydock

After hiking around, they did some fun activities wit the park ranger and then we ate lunch. After lunch they all got to go play in the sand dunes. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad I go to go spend time with her.

Dance Pictures!

The girls had dance pictures taken before their big recital next week.
Gentry 7 years old is in a combo class that teaches jazz and ballet.

Oh my...how absolutely adorable is this? She gets to dance with this umbrella in the recital.

Gentry and her class.

Sadie 10 years old. Sadie is on a competition team, so she does Jazz, Ballet, Techniques, Hip Hop and Lyrical.  This is Sadie's Ballet Picture.

Jazz

Another Jazz. Love this outfit and picture. She is just too cute!

And this is Sadie in her Warm-up outfit right after the competition in Cedar with her metal. She has done two competitions now, one dance for a cure benefit dance (which Jaycee and McKenzie Jolley and Hailey Johansen were in charge of) and still has another recital and then tryouts for next year.

Teacher Appreciation!

For teacher appreciation this year the PTO and Red Mountain parents got together and decorated all the teachers doors. I was in charge of Mr. Campbell's who is a huge UTE fan. So of course I made a Utes football field with little footballs around the door with each of the kids names on it.  It was really fun, especially because he knows that we are huge BYU fans. He and Sadie have a good time teasing each other about there teams.

Tyson and Lacey's Wedding!

My oldest nephew got married on April 30th. It was a beautiful ceremony and fun reception.
My sisters-in-law and I were in charge of keeping the refreshment table stocked.  We had a great time. All of our family stayed for the entire reception. It was so much fun seeing old neighbors, friends and family we haven't seen in a while. We were there from 4:00-10:00pm.
Congrats Ty and Lac. Welcome to your crazy family Lacey.

Goggles!

We had just gotten home from town and I was putting grocery's aways and hear Gentry behind me say "Goggles" I turn around to see this...
HA Ha I laughed and laughed. She had gotten something out of the quarter machines at the store and decided that the shell it came in would make great goggles.  She is such a nerd, but we love her anyway.

Finally...

After 4 years of living here, we are finally getting our yard in.
Before shot.
Here's the during shots: Adam leveling out the yard and moving dirt.

Calli's turn. She's driving this thing all by herself.

Gentry's turn. Bo helping Adam move some of the dirt from the back to the front.

And Sadie's turn. Sadie sat with Adam the first time and then she too drove it alone.

After. Most of the weeds are gone, the dirt is all leveled and there is now a swing set. (donated to the preschool by my mom)

We (when I say we I mean Adam) are working on the front too. We are hoping to get our grass in by the time preschool starts in August.  I'll post more as progress continues. YAY!!

Happy Easter 2011!

The girls decorating their Easter Eggs.
On Easter we woke up to see that the Easter Bunny found our house. The girls got new swimming suits, towels, Amberlyn chocolate bunnies, CTR rings, $5 and then the entire family all got BYU shirts and the DVD tangled. After church we went to the Losee Easter Party. We started out at my parent house for my dad's famous ribs and dutch oven potatoes and then went to the park for our Easter egg hunt/ This year the theme was...

Pirates. Adam and Ben all decked out as Pirates. The grand kids found eggs with their names on it and then in that egg was a name of a cousin. After they found that cousin they went over to the pirates where they were given eye patches and then handcuffed to that cousin.
Sadie and Tavin were partners.
The cousins (pirates) with their partners following a pirate map and clues to their Treasure.

Adam making sure all his buccaneers are obeying.

Adam leading the little pirates with their eyes shut to the treasure.
The grand kids waiting to open the treasure chest.

GOLD candy and BYU footballs for all. On each football was their name and a date. The date indicated the date of the BYU game they were going to (hence the BYU shirts the Easter bunny brought) My mom ordered season tickets to all the BYU games and each family got to pick 1-2 games to go to. The grand kids love BYU football and were thrilled.  For the adults we had to go hunt for our own egg. In our eggs were clues we had to figure out together.  In the end we received a free hotel night for our football game.  It was so fun. The kids (and adults) loved it.
