Annual Spring Break Coral Pink Trip

March 16-20, 2022. We headed to Coral Pink for our annual coral pink camping trip for Adam's birthday!
Wednesday, March 16, 2022
We pulled out late Wednesday night around 6:00 pm and was greeted by some amazing views of the sun hitting the mountains.
To get to our favorite spot we have to drive through soft sand which makes it hard to get to. But it’s such the perfect spot that it’s worth it.
This time actually deemed a little more difficult and we all got stuck.
We pushed (literally)...
and pulled our trailers through the sand using our machines and made it.
It was a beautiful night. It was just Adam and I for the first 2 nights and then all the girls and Levi came up on Friday.
We ate dinner that we picked up on the way, set up the trailer, played some games and climbed into bed.
Thursday, March 17, 2022
Our favorite spot is right up against a mountain, in the trees and minutes from the tons of trails and the dunes.
View of our little community out my front door!
This trip we had Cains, Peterson's Galbraiths and Ryans mom and dad. (We have gotten to know Michael and Jan Cain pretty well and have camped with them before. We love Scott and Glory Galbraith, so it was fun camping with them for the first time. He was just released from bishop so it was a running joke all weekend trying to remember to call him Scott and not bishop)
Thursday morning Adam and I hiked the little mountain behind our camp.

View of our trailers from the top.

We got back and eat breakfast and Adam and Ryan flew their drones around.
And then we had a corn hole competition. Jan and Mike killed us all.
Lyman and Porter came up on grandpas motorcycle and played for a few hours.
We took them on a ride to see our favorite sites. I took one for the team and let Lyman sit in the front hoping I would be okay in the back...nope. For a second time the back made me sick. I'll stick to the front from now on.
Dino Tracks.

Always cool, no matter how many times we've seen them.
The  never ending piles and piles of tires.

And this structure that we can't figure out what it is or where it came. Adam and Ryan flew their drones to get a closer look and it's so weird. Our best guesses are either a set from a movie or a mine shaft.

Then off to the dunes to give Lyman and Porter a thrill ride. There were tons of people out sand surfing.

So much fun, even while not feeling 100 percent.
We got back to camp and after eating and resting for a bit, I was good as new. We another corn hole competition which Adam and I won. Woo Hoo!
We ate dinner and sat around the camp fire and chatted before tucking in for the night.
Friday, March 18, 2020. After breakfast we jumped in our machines to take Galbraiths to the medicine man cave. There were quite a few people on the trails so it was taking longer than usual, so we turned back and went back to camp to wait for the girls while they ventured on. We had already been to the cave twice before so we were okay to not see it again. It's a good thing we did because we got back just in time for the kids to arrive.
Adam showing Levi "all the guy stuff"
Levi chose to just set up his truck trailer and sleep there.
After a couple of hours and Cains and Galbraiths not returning, we jumped in the razor and went to look for them. We found them on the radio a few miles from camp. They were on their way back so we skipped over to the dino tracks again. We rented another machine from one of Adam's friends so we would have room for all us on rides.
Levi did awesome driving the other machine.

Exploring the tracks

Back to camp for lunch, rest and...
some laser tag. Calli and Levi got right in and played with the kids.

Levi hiding out under the trailer
Late night ride to the dunes. The girls LOVE the dunes. It was fun showing Levi for the first time. He kept up with everyone and did everything we were doing. We'd sweep across a big hill and look back and here they came right behind us. It was a little more nerve racking for me though, looking back and knowing all three of my girls ad Levi we all in the same machine.
Let's Ride.
At one point we headed to the hill to do some jumps. Adam had instructed Levi on the dos and don'ts of the dunes but forgot to say anything about jumping. We took off toward a hill and jumped and turned around to see them following. Levi tried to match our speed but was going too fast....they flew. We usually get about a foot off the ground. They got 4 foot under them. I remember thinking they are never coming down. Once they did, their nose started coming down first we were all so worried they were going to flip. But luckily they stayed steady and landed without any instance. Just a few pounding hearts. After a few instructions they tried in again and nailed it...twice.

Such a pretty night.  I got a cool video of all 4 machines sweeping across a hill.

Back to camp for a big game of bocce ball.
Our site was the perfect for it and had so many cool places to throw.

The three girls solving the worlds problems.

That night we had tin foil dinner.
And sat around eating, visiting and playing games.
We brought enough banana boat stuff for everyone to make one. (Scott and Glory had brought 2 of their grand daughters we we had lots of kids)
Saturday, March 19, 2020 we all went on our long anticipated ride. Ryan always finds cool new things to explore.
This one was called "The Mail Drop" Its a huge cliff where the pony express would ride from one location and meet up with another rider coming from the opposite direction and lower or raise the mail down a huge overlook with beams and pulleys, rather than riding around it. It saved them days in travel.
Pretty views on the ride there.

Stopping at the trail head
Cool hike to the drop

The drop was incredible and soooo far down. It was crazy to think that dropping mail down a 650 foot cliff was a better idea than taking a couple more days to travel around it.
We could see views of Zion from where we were.
Checking out the drop and views.
Adam held on to the girls as they looked over. It was very intimidating.

But the views were spectacular
Just a little wrestling...
and stunting on the edge of a cliff is always a good idea...JK we were not that close.

Adam flying his drone out across the canyon

Showing the girls some cool drone footage

If you look close, you can see us on the cliff from our drone.

All of us from the drone.
Levi, from the drone
Pics from on top
Scott and his granddaughter Nora and Mila.
Nora and Sadie had matching shoes
Heading back to camp with a couple detours.
Cool karate kid tree
Adam in his happy place!
More cool views
And photo bombing selfies

The 4 hour ride wore Calli out. We came back, ate lunch rested and visited and then packed up to head home. (With Ryan now in the bishopric and Adam staying in as ward clerk, they thought it was best to be to church. (This may be how it is from now on...we'll see.)
The girls thought it was so funny to watch Adam crawl under the razor and tie it down in the trailer.
Heading out. Man, we played HARD this weekend. Not much down time. We went and went and went. With that and the time change, it took me a week to recover. But boy did we have fun!! Until next time.
