Adam's Birthday!

March 22, 2015
Adam tuned the Big 4-0!!!
 He makes 40 look good!
We tried to spoil him all day. We sent him to his theater room right after church and made him stay there and relax while we made dinner, decorated and wrapped presents.
We decorated with black balloons, crape paper and an Over the Hill sign but decided we didn't want to depress him too much so we added a little color as well. He got an inversion chair, Disney watch, Nike beanie, a couple movies and an i-tunes card.
We also made him a "40 sucks Sucker Bouquet" with 40 suckers!
Happy 40th Birthday Adam. We sure do love you!

St. Patrick's Day!

Pretty simple St. Patty's this year.
Made the girls their traditional green breakfast
and then they got "Anti-Pinch Polish" and money shamrocks.
They were happy so it worked!

Spring Break!

Calli and Sadie started out their Spring Break with a quick trip to Salt Lake with Grandma and Grandpa Losee to see cousins. They had a blast and got home Sunday night. While they were away we spoiled Gentry with dinner and a movie.
Monday: While Calli went hiking with some friends for the day, Tanya and I took our kids and a couple friends to the sand dunes for a few hours and a picnic.
 Skyler, Sadie, Gentry and Hallee.

 Sledding down the Dunes
 Gentry and Hallee digging holes.
They climbed in their holes and buried themselves. It looked so funny.
Sadie practicing her front walk-over.
That night we had our annual Bachelor's Party at Kami's. Always a good time with good friends and good food.
Tuesday: Gentry and I met some friends at Jumping Jacks while Calli and Sadie opted to stay in bed.
Amy and her husband owns Jumping Jacks and so we go before hours and let the kids run...
while "us girls" get in some fun visiting time.( Kristen, Amy, Robyn, Janae and Lori)
That afternoon I took the girls to the new Fiesta Fun to check out the new bowling Alley. Adam was able to come by for a bit as well.

After bowling we had fun on the go-carts and in the arcade.

On the last lap, Sadie and Gentry got bumped by another car. It spun them around and when they came to a stop they were stuck.
The employee had to come help them. Sadie was so mad, she went from second place to last.
We stopped at Swig on our way home for some much needed refreshments. That night the girls each had a friend over for an outdoor movie night.
Wednesday: Calli and I started our day out early at Justice Court.
We were still dealing with a ticket she got for a accident a few months before and her court date just happened to be during Spring Break. It was a cool experience. I would have sat there all day if I could. It was fascinating listening to all the cases, pleas and sentencing...until they brought in a inmate in his strips and shackles, then I was looking for the nearest exit. Calli was so brave as she approached and talked to the judge. In the end she will have to pay her ticket and take the class to keep her points down. But it was still cool to see. I think every child should experience that at least once. Calli felt like she needed some pampering after that ordeal so...
we had a girls spa day.
The girls first pedicures. They LOVED it!
 Our cute toes.
Thursday: We took a short break from all the Spring Break Fun and scrubbed the house.

Awe, such a beautiful sight and so good to have done.
That afternoon Sadie went with friends back to Fiesta Fun, Calli went to a movie with friends and Gentry played with Hallee.
Friday: The girls and I went and did some Easter shopping and then had a Birthday party at our house for Travis.
Saturday: Calli went Snowboarding with Damon and some of his family for the day.

She loves it and is getting better and better each time she goes.  Gentry played with friends and Sadie (after her choir concert) had a late night, fire pit, volleyball outdoor movie night with friends at our house to officially end Spring Break. It was such a great week. I always love spending time with my family and was sad to see it end.

Sadie's Choir Concerts!

Sadie had two choir concerts a week apart. They were both patriotic concerts. The first one was at the tabernacle and was for all the "Hero's in our Community"  It was fantastic. The songs were amazing. I got a little choked up a few times.
My parents are awesome at supporting their kids and grand kids at everything they do but being a patriotic concert I made sure to invite them. My dad fought in the Vietnam war and I really wanted him there to be honored.
At a certain point during the concert they sang the different military songs from each unit. During each military song any members of that unit were asked to stand and any members of the choir that had family in those units raised their hands. It was neat to see my dad stand for the Army song and have Sadie and Jaicelyn both raise their hands for their grandpa. (Grandpa Peterson served in the Navy, so although he couldn't be there because he is on a mission, Sadie raised her hand then as well.)

A week later the SCMS choir was asked to sing at the closing ceremonies of the "Healing Wall": A replica of the wall in Washington DC with all 58,000 names of the those who died in the Vietnam War.
 Sadie with her Choir.
Again they asked the veterans to stand and be honored.
After seeing me snap a picture of my dad, Terry wanted a picture taken of him too. So, here is my brother being patriotic!
After the concert we went and checked out the wall. We had seen it once before when it had come to St. George but it was good to see it again and be reminded of all those who gave their lives and to also listen to some of the stories from my dad.  Growing up he was pretty quiet when it came to talking about Vietnam, but the last few years he become more vocal. He talks about it more, shares his stories and experiences more, has been interviewed by a magazine to share his story of the battle he was in and has been to a couple Vietnam Veterans reunions.
My dad pointing out some of his friends from war and sharing stories.
It was great to go to the concerts and listen to the songs and stories and just feel proud to be an American!

A Walk in the Rain!

Calli had mentioned that she really wanted to go on a family walk/hike the Sunday before and we told her we would go the following Sunday. Sunday came and it was stormy, wet and cold...she didn't let us off the hook. She loves the rain and only saw it as a plus not a negative. So off we went...

We took the girls and the dogs to "Paradise Trail" Adam loves to do this trail on his bike and has taken me on several occasions so we knew it would be a nice leisurely one we could do on a Sunday.
Sadie's "noob" on the top of her head had us laughing the whole way.

Halfway point overlooking St. George/Snow Canyon area.

Family Selfie in the Rain. It was actually quite fun. Even when it's cold, muddy and rainy we love our family adventures together!

Snow Fun!

Southern Utah had a freak one day snow storm blow through! It was all melted by the next day, but we enjoyed it while it lasted.

Gentry went out exploring before school.

Gentry and Hallee wishing for a "Snow Day" as they walk into class.
The Red Mountain
As soon as school got out Gentry went right out and played in it while there was still some left.
And made real snow cones with the ice.
