The rest of May was just as busy as the first.
I had my preschool graduation which is always a lot of work but tons of fun!
Cute crayon wreath I got from Raiden and Annie.
Gentry's class did an Opera. It was all original and written by the students. They painted the props, wrote all the words and parts and then brought in a professional to help them put it to music. It was really cute. It was called "Two-way mess up park." Gentry was a member of the family.
We have some birds that have made nests and laid eggs in our tall trees by the wall, so the girls were checking them out.
We took the girls to see Iron man 3 and Croods (different days) which were both great flicks. On the way out Gentry spotted this "photo-op" with Monster's inc. Characters.
We had tin foil dinners and smore's by the fire pit.
We also had high school graduation. I had a niece, a step-niece and several young women graduating this year. So I made up a few different gifts for each of them.
Rylee's gift.
Jadyn's gift. Money and Candy Lei.
Young Women's gifts.
This was one of the best graduations I have been to. It was actually short and sweet. The speakers were mostly students (Valedictorian, Senior Pres. and Student body Pres.) and did a fantastic job. It was also fun that all three student speakers were from the soccer team. As the graduates were lining up to walk through and get their diplomas they had a special graduate they wanted to recognize first. DuJuan is the athletic trainer at Snow Canyon. His 8 month old son has been diagnosed with a terminal condition and only has a couple more weeks to live. His family made a bucket list of things they would like to do before he passes. On the list was "Watch our son graduate" They got their wish this night as he was the first graduate of 2013 to walk through the SC. They received a standing ovation. It was very emotional and such a neat experience. Snow Canyon is an amazing school.

Way to go Jay!
On the last day of school we kept with tradition and took the girls to Iggy's for lunch. They were so excited when their dessert came. The cheesecake and ice cream were bigger than their heads.
May 1st I started this biggest loser competition with some friends and have continued at it for the entire month. The program goes for 12 weeks and the winner gets a $300 pot. At our last weigh in I was 5th out of 23. Adam's not doing the competition but we have been exercising together. I am feeling really good and love watching the progress and seeing myself run or bike a little further or faster each time. On Saturday the 25th, Adam and I got up early and went for a 11 mile bike ride. Adam used to mountain bike all the time and has really wanted to get back at it. So we rode 4 miles down Snow Canyon Parkway to the Paradise off-road trail. We did that ride which was about 3 miles of rough up and down terrain and then rode the 4 miles back. We did 11 miles in about 2.5 hours. It really was a lot of fun. I think we'll be doing a lot more mountain biking in the future.
Memorial weekend we had family in town, so of course we had to kick off the summer with an afternoon of skim boarding.
Calli
Sadie and Kassi
We also had 3 different BBQ's with the families.
Chipmunk Sadie.
Calli has also started her summer soccer conditioning. She goes Monday-Thursday at 7:30 am to do running, weight training and skills. Then Tuesday - Thursday afternoon she does acceleration with the Intermountain athlete trainers to improve speed and agility. She also has 2 week-long soccer camps coming up as well. I'm so proud of her for always giving 110%. For always wanting to improve and get better. Not every teenager would be willing to give up their summers for soccer but then again she's not your average teenager either:)
Well, so glad that the busyness of May is over and we can now enjoy our summer vacation!
