May 15th - 17th. We had planned to go camping this weekend but Thursday night crap hit the fan and we weren't sure we were going to pull it off...Sadie found out that a co-worker of her's that she had just worked with the day before tested positive for the Corona Virus. I wasn't too worried because they all wear masks and gloves and the health department dubbed them as low risk and allowed them to stay open but our sensitive little Sadie got all worked up. Mostly, because of Austin and his mom having gone through chemo is more receptive and they have been very careful with where they allowed Austin to go. Sadie called into work and told her under the circumstances and having a couple high risk people in her life, she couldn't work that weekend. I texted Kassi who works for the health department and asked her some questions about getting Sadie tested. She said to wait five days so the test would be more accurate. Austin's dad said no more hanging out until Sadie got tested. He went home for the weekend. We talked about just bagging the camping trip but then decided we might as well get out of there for a few days and take Sadie to keep her busy. Calli went to Payson for Ashlynn's bachelorette party instead of camping so it was just the four of us and at the last second, Cain's decided to join us too.
We hit the road for Enterprise Friday at noon. Adam and I had taken the trailer up the night before to ensure a spot. It's good we did, the place was packed. With no set-up needed we jumped right in the trailer and ate lunch before heading out on a ride.
We stopped at a little stream and cave to explore. There were thousands of baby tadpoles.
It's more of a reservoir drain than a cave, but it was still cool.
Oh, my gosh...Gentry ran ahead of us to do her best Sasquatch pose but after looking at the picture it reminded us more of the aliens from signs...we laughed and laughed!
We drove around to the other side of the reservoir where there are some of the coolest rocks to climb. We didn't go too deep after someone said a ratter snake had been spotted there yesterday. Eeek.
So pretty!! I love the contrast of the rocks and the greenery.
Sadie thought these looked like crocodiles in the water.
Cain's pulled in a little bit later Friday night and the kids jumped right in and played games.
Tin foil dinners. Noah and Charleigh opted to eat with us that night.
All tucked in.
Sadie braiding Gentry and Charleigh's hair for the day.
Time for a razor ride.
Checking out the tadpoles again.
This ride was incredible. Everything was sooo green. We were gone about 5 hours and I loved every minute of the views.
Pit Stop
Funniest thing ever...we pulled into this random spot to check the app and make sure we were still heading in the right direction and Adam made a comment about how he had been looking for "the two crossed wooden sticks with one metal pole" for centuries and he couldn't believe we had found it.
Ryan jumped right out and took a picture. Then proceeded to continue taking pictures from every angle...
before ending with a selfie of him and our discovery. We were laughing so hard. For our next adventure, we are looking for the "three crossed wooden sticks and 2 metal poles" Keep your fingers crossed!!
We took another pit stop and stopped at slaughter creek for a while to cool off in the water and eat.
We found some of the most colorful rocks. We all had handfuls as we got back in the razors and drove back to camp.
That night after dinner, we hit the reservoir for a few minutes to do a little shore fishing. Gentry caught one on her 2nd cast. She was so excited.
Had another relaxing night around the fire making s'mores and chatting before tucking ourselves in to bed for another good night's sleep.
We woke up early and got packed up so we could meet Calli at home. The girls helping Adam guide the razor into the trailer. He literally has about 2 inches of clearance on each side. On our way home, Sadie got a text that the co-worker got tested again and it came back negative...yay! Good News!
Adam cleaning his baby...
I swear this thing gets more baths than I do.:) Another fun and successful getaway. Adam sure loves his time in the mountains. It's his stress relief and I'm happy to give it to him!
