This was about a 7 mile hike that like a figure 8. It was two different hikes linked together.
Mouse Tank Hike and Petroglyphs
This was an old outlaw hideout.
There was water at the bottom of this little crevice.
After hiking numerous hikes in Valley of Fire, we drove to the St Thomas Ghost Town. We were worried the mile hike to the town wouldn't be worth it but this ended up being my favorite part.
You could see the little town from the parking lot.
This was an old Mormon town that they moved from and then years later another group came in and settled. After several years, the town was flooded by Lake Mead and the people had to desert their homes and town.
Hiking Down.
Because it had been flooded for decades and just recently receded revealing the town, there were sea shells everywhere
Remnant of one of the homes
Map of the town!
Main Street. There were homes and businesses that lined this street.
This was a grocery store
This was a two story school house
That night after our hiking day, we drove home, showered rested and then went to dinner. What a fun day had celebrating! Happy 28th Anniversary to us!!
