Girls Camp

Girls Camp 8/24 @Kolob

“Rise Above”

The drive through Zion was gorgeous
We had a rough start and rough ending but everything in between was simply the best!!
It rained, it poured, it hailed. About 30 minutes after arriving, we got dumped on. We had just pulled everything out of the trailer and started to set up tents.
We had to abandoned outlet tents and quickly set up the shade covers.
We were soaked!
The stake came around and asked everyone to get in their cars until the lightning was over. He ate our lunches and hung out for about 2 hours.
After the rain stopped we all piled out and started to put our camp back together. They canceled the first devotional and service project.
This tent was unusable. Good thing the camp director thought to through in a couple more tents at the last second.
We had a few wet sleeping bags, blankets and clothes. Luckily the camp ground had a dryer. It also had electricity, showers and kitchens at each site. It was so nice.
Our camp directors. Lydia Nelson and Timaree Fullerton
First night was skits! Our ward in their hot air balloon.
The priesthoods skits. Haha!
After our rain storm the weather was great. Warm days and cool nights.
The next day we did rotations. We did the climbing wall…

Rappelling….
And the water slide!
So much fun!! Some of us youth and leaders that formed a train!

It was long and so fast but such a blast.
I went down three times before I bruised my tail bone but some of the girls went over and over and over!
Mud pit at the end, where all the injury’s happen

This year we had a lot of Ward free time which was awesome.
We did crafts, games, marshmallow guns, bracelets, painting etc.

Our ward!!
The bishopric in the balloon!
It was such a great week. I love girls Camp.

We had lots of devotionals, speakers, Star gazing, rotations, compass course and testimony meeting. I slept really good and even got out my tent each night by myself to go to the bathroom. Haha!!
On the way home, we had a YW get car sick and throw up  in my car. While trying to clean it up my car died.
The other drivers in our ward didn’t notice that we pulled over and we had no cell service. After a dozen cars whizzed by without stopping we said a prayer. We hadn’t even said amen before a car pulled over and jumped the car and we were back on the road. We had to drive the rest of the way our windows down. Despite the beginning and end it was awesome, plus I got my car detailed and it is so clean now!!
