Utah Summer Games!

Calli and her Dixie Dragon's soccer team played in the Utah Summer Games again this year. They had games Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Cedar City. Wednesday's game was late enough that Adam was able to get off and go with us. They won 3-0. Thursday and Friday my mom and dad spontaneously decided to join in on the fun. They borrowed Stacy's van and loaded it up. We had a full van with grandma, grandpa, me, Calli, Sadie, Gentry, Trasen and Kassi the first day and then Gentry and Trasen stayed at Stacy's the next day so we had Talen and Jaicelyn. It was quite an adventure.
Talen and Calli playing "throw the ball at the window and then catch it" in the van.

Sadie always rides in style.
Her, Kassi and Jaicelyn dancing in the back.

The Dixie Dragons huddling and giving a cheer at the beginning of one of the games.
They played better than I have ever seen them play. They were playing hard and as a team. They won 2 out of 3 games, qualifying them to play in the Gold/Silver Medal game on Saturday.  Me, Adam and the girls drove up early that morning followed by my mom, dad and Kassi, again. They didn't want to miss this game. It was the most INTENSE game I have ever watched.  Adam's  heart was everywhere, I wanted to throw up and my mom couldn't even watch, she went wandering.  Everyone was on their feet and cheering.  By the end of the game it was tied 3-3. They went into two 5 minute overtimes in which no one scored so they went to a shoot-out.  Each team picked 5 players to shoot on the opposing goalie.  We made 3 of the 5 and the other team made 4....so close.  It was a great, hard fought game regardless and they came home with the silver medal.

Calli is so excited about her silver medal.

And look at this fine hunk of a man I found standing in line for snow cones at the award ceremony...I had to hurry and snap this picture before he caught me...What a Stud!!
After the award ceremony we headed over to my nieces game that was playing in the Summer Games as well. What a fun but exhausting weekend.
