Snow Canyon VS Canyon View

Calli started this game and was on track to have a killer game. Within the first few minutes she had so many great plays,  but 27 minutes into the game the lightning came and the game was postponed for 20 minutes...But not before Calli took a shot at the goal and scored...

ST. GEORGE – The Snow Canyon girls soccer team started its battle against Canyon View with a bang and ended it with a storm Tuesday in a weather-shortened affair.Kyleigh Wittwer put the first points on the board for the Warriors as she knocked it in to the net during the first few minutes of action.Canyon View, not able to handle the Warriors pressure, gave up another goal — this time with a slight twist. Callister Peterson came from the side and knocked it off the crossbar where it careened into a Falcon defender for the second SC score.With the Warriors leading, 2-0, the game was then delayed at the 27-minute mark due to the rain and the lightning in the area. After a 20-minute delay, the officials called the game.Snow Canyon head coach Kenny Kunde said both teams tentatively scheduled the game to be continued on September 12 at 3:30 p.m.“That is the closest time where there is a good break in our schedule and in theirs,” Kunde said. “(The time) will just start right where it is at that time and that score. Then we will just finish it out.”Kunde said he knew the lightning was getting close and told the girls the game had the potential to get called and they needed to get a quick start.“We had really good chances there in that first 10 minutes,” Kunde said. “We should have put four (goals) in.”Kundee said the team really didn’t get to see enough from Canyon View to better prepare for the Falcons next time, but said if SC has similar pressure in the next game, the Warriors will be OK.

Canyon View vs Snow Canyon Postponed

Kyleigh Wittwer scores early then a Callister Peterson cross deflects off a defender and into the goal as Snow Canyon builds a 2 - 0 lead in the first 7 minutes of the game. Then with 27:47 remaining in the first half the game way delayed for lightning twice and eventually postponed because of it. The game has been rescheduled for September 12 at 3:30 pm and will resume where left off with Snow Canyon having a 2 - 0 lead.

Hanging out in the car waiting to see if the game will resume. Twenty minutes later the game was cancelled and rescheduled. The rain continued to come, resulting in a night of more flooding for southern Utah and brilliant flashes lighting up the sky. I went out on the deck and took these pictures. 

This last one was about 11:00 pm. It lit up the entire back yard. Soccer +Rain.=a great day.
