Sadie's Dance Team made it to Nationals at Lagoon.
So Friday, May 15th as soon as the girls got out of school we headed up north for the weekend. Our first stop was Payson to go to the Payson Temple Open House.
This is my brother Kevin's house. You can see the Temple spire behind it. The temple is literally in his back yard. You can see it out every window in the back of their home...So Awesome!
We changed our clothes and walked to the temple with Kevin and his family.
Absolutely Breathtaking! It is a beautiful temple, so much wood, marble and gorgeous staircases. The celestial room and font were my favorite.
Cousins. It was so nice having them along, they were able to tell us little tidbits and interesting facts they had learned while volunteering there.
Our Eternal Family
My Girls
We stayed for so long that it got dark on us.
The temple at night.
My Eternal Companion and I .
We stayed the night there at Kevin's and then woke up at 5:30am to get Sadie ready and head to Lagoon!
Nationals!!
Jazz
Lyrical
Hip Hop
Contemporary
They did great. They ended up getting 1st place and National Champions titles for Hip Hop and Contemporary. 2nd in Lyrical and 4th in Jazz.
Adam catching up on his zzz's in between Sadie's performances.
Calli and Gentry entertaining themselves during the performances. It was a killer for them to have to be watching dance while in Lagoon instead of going on the rides.
So, we took off and hit a couple during one of Sadie's longer breaks. Then she was able to join us when she was done.We lucked out with her schedule. She was completely done competing at 1:00 pm so we had the rest of the day to just play and go on rides. It was a cold and very rainy day. It rained the ENTIRE time. Even though we came prepared with poncho's, warm clothes, extra socks and umbrella's it was still impossible to stay dry. Due to the rain and a few rides being closed they announced that they would be closing earlier and that anyone with a all-day pass could come back free within the next 3 weeks. Not knowing if we would be able to come back that quickly we decided to trudge through and get the most out of it just in case.
My girls are diehards and handled it like champs.
There were very minimal lines and the park even got emptier the later it got. We just ran from ride to ride. Going on everything multiple times.
Sadie, Adam and Calli getting on the Terror Ride.
Gentry opted out so we chilled together under the umbrella.
Cold and wet but still Happy!
Their favorites were Rocket, Samurai and Wicked which had no line at all. They ran around and around going on it 5 times in a row.
We lasted until 6:30. By then we had hit everything we wanted and were soaked to the bone and freezing, so we headed out, changed our clothes in the car and went to get something to eat before heading to my sister's house for the night. It was a great weekend of family, dancing and fun!!
Congrats Sadie!!
