Weekend Getaway!

June 30-July 1, 2018 

Spontaneous Weekend Getaway! Lyman was having surgery over the weekend in Provo and Sadie had been wanting to go up and see Austin so we killed two birds with one stone!

We decided late Thursday night and hit the road on Saturday! They picked me up from work Saturday afternoon and we were off. 

We were on a bit of a time crunch to pop in and see Lyman and make it to Austin's first game so when we hit "stand-still" traffic we were a bit nervous. We lost about 45 minutes but Adam was able to make it up with his amazing driving skills. We never did see what caused it. 

Alright, who's the culprit...this time!

"I-Spy the Y"...a game we play every time we drive through Provo. We stopped and visited with Lyman for few minutes. His surgery went well and he was doing good! We jumped back in the car and drove to Salt Lake for the game. 

Sadie wanted to surprise him and so all the way up as they texted she was telling him she was at work etc. He saw us walk in and said he was shocked! It was a good surprise and they loved seeing and spending time together again. 

It was a good game. Austin played left field and pitcher. They won their game.  He will be at this camp until the end of July and then come home for a couple weeks before heading back up to start school at BYU. After his game we all went back to Ben and Stacy's and played games and slept there. We woke up the next morning and headed to his morning game. 

Hanging out at the game. He was heading to Oregon a couple hours later for more games so they said their goodbyes. He headed to the airport and we headed back to Provo to see Lyman on our way home. 

He is now officially an author. His book he has been working on has been published and he was signing copies and giving them to family members. 

So excited to read it. It's going to be good! We got home Sunday around 7:00pm. It was a quick 29 hour trip but was a fun little get away with the fam!
