Calli went to this light festival a couple years ago and told us how cool it was. I've wanted to do it ever since. So we gave the girls tickets for Easter.
Road Trips with this crew are my FAVORITE!!
The Lights!! We made it. It was right on the border of Mesquite and Littlefield Arizona.
All set up and ready to kick back and eat, enjoy the entertainment, people watch and wait for the sun to go down.
Sooo incredibly proud of these three. They gave up their chairs and opted to sit on the blanket for 3 hours instead by giving their chairs to a cute couple who didn't bring chairs or blankets. They were sitting on pieces of cardboard.
They were so happy to be off the ground. Later that night they came over with Cokes and bottled water and thanked us again. It was so cute!
What a Stud! He loves people watching so this was the perfect environment for him. He got quite a kick out some people.
What would a Lantern Fest be without Rapunzel?
Adam entertaining himself by coloring on the girls feet with the Sharpies that were given to us to color on our lanterns.
Check out our family of 5 on the 5 toes. Haha!
It started to really fill up about 5:30. We had gotten there about an hour before and had a great spot towards the front by the stage.
They had food trucks, live entertainment and giveaways all night long!
Snow Cones and Frozen Lemonade for the win!
We always tease Calli about how un-affectionate she is (She's just not a huggie person) so the girls love to show her lots of LOVE!!
At dusk they started lighting all the torches.
It looked pretty cool seeing the torches lit up everywhere.
Coloring and writing messages on their lanterns.
Awe! Seriously got so emotional when we all saw what Adam wrote on his Lantern...so sweet!
Family Selfie!
Almost Time!
They demonstrated how to do it and sent a demo one up and then counted down for the rest of us...
5,000 paper lanterns lit up the sky to the song "Hallelujah" It was so Magical and a bit emotional.
It's something you really have to be there to see in person to get the full effect. It was AMAZING!
So BLESSED!!
It was such a great night. One we will always remember. I sure love my family and am so thankful for memories like these.
