Saturday, April 16th was a busy, busy day!
We had five different places or events to be to that day. So we had to pick and choose which ones we could make it too and what we had to pass on.
-9:00-noon: Sadie Stake Activity days
-9:00am: Youth stake service project at Tuacahn
-All morning-Sadie's Dance competition at Dixie College
-All day: Kite Festival-5:00: Calli soccer game in Cedar
We made it to 2 1/2 of these.
We went to Sadie's dance comp. and Calli's soccer game and then sent the girls reading calendars with their teachers so they could still get a kite.
Mine and Sadie's day started at 6:30 that morning. We woke up and got her all ready.
Sadie in her "Team Sweats" Her team is called Embrace Dance Co.
Sadie's cute lyrical dress.
and my favorite...her jazz costume.
We got to Dixie College by 7:30. She went with her team to the dressing room to finish getting ready and practice. Her first dance was at 8:30am. I found a comfortable spot that I could hang out in ALL DAY. Adam ran in and watched her first dance and then went back home to get Calli and Gentry up and ready to come back in for her second performance which wasn't until 1:15pm.
Sadie and her team performing their Jazz routine to M.I.C.A
Sadie's lyrical performance to Slow Me Down.
In between her dances we watched all the other teams perform, went shopping at some booths they had set up, ate lunch and just hung out.
Sadie after both dances waiting for the award ceremony to begin which was at 2:30pm.
All the teams down on the floor accepting their awards. Each girl received a trophy and then each team won bigger trophies in their different categories. Embrace won 2nd in Lyrical and 3rd in Jazz. This is a brand new team and this was their first competition. They did great.
As soon as the awards were over we jumped in the car, grabbed a bite to eat and drove to Cedar City for Calli's soccer game.
Calli-#2 listening to her coach at half time.
Out on the field. Calli plays defender and plays the entire game with no subs. Her team is a competitive team called the Dixie Dragons. It is a brand new team also. She plays on U14 which means most of the girls on her team and the girls she plays against are 14-15 year olds. She looks so tiny out there, but she has NO fear. It doesn't matter if her opponent is a foot taller then her she will go after that ball. This is her second season with this team and I cannot believe how much she has improved. It has been so fun to watch her and the other girls get better and better with each game. We ended up getting home around 8:00 that night.
What a fun, crazy busy day!
Did you forget to take your camera to Cedar?
