Girls Camp!

(Again, girls camp and the UVU soccer Camp fell on the same week.
Calli made the tough decision to go to girls camp this year)

"Come unto Christ"
I always have mixed feelings about going to Girls Camp. I get very anxious about going but really wanted to go this year where it was Calli's last Stake Camp (5th Year) and Sadie's first Stake camp so I was excited/nervous when I was called to the Stake Committee. Of course, it's always great, always the best camp ever and I come home, glad that I went. This year was no different. So, right off the bat, I decided to tackle one of my fears (Cedar mountain road) head on...I drove to camp this year.  I feel so much better about that drive now and wouldn't hesitate driving again.
Our committee was Amazing and everything was over the top. We decorated with "Dots" (Depend On The Savior.)
Each camp had it's own color. The Stake was yellow. We also had matching shirts to match our camp that said "Stay calm and Come unto Christ" everyone looked awesome on the first day in all our shirts. New this year, which raised lots of eyebrows but brought much praise was the inspired decision to camp in grades rather than wards. It was neat to be on the board and help with all the kinks and decision making on this matter leading up to camp. Overall, we got rave reviews. (As soon as we were told about the new sleeping arrangements I instantly knew it would not work for Sadie. She is such a homebody like me and likes to be with friends she knows. But knowing it was inspired and after talking to her about it, she agreed to give it a try. She did end up with me each night however, but that's okay we found an empty pod and had a girls party.)
One of the most impressive things at camp was the kitchen and the cooks. It was sooo organized. Having everyone camp in their grades brought up an issue of eating. So every meal was done as a stake. It was quite an undertaking feeding 200+ each meal. But the food committee handled it brilliantly and we had 5 star service each meal.

She was excited to see some friends she knew from school and got right in and had fun.
The first day we did skits.

That night we had our camp kick-off. What better way to get the girls attention then by inviting boys...
We had 4 boys from Snow Canyon come sing "Virtue Makes you Beautiful"
and then did a Q&A panel. It turned out great. The girls loved it.
The next day we did the Amazing Race based on the "For Strengthen of Youth"

Then we had speakers come and talk to us about Ways we can Come unto Christ.

That night we had a special guest come and do our night devotional.
Lyndsi Housekeeper. She spoke to us and in between sang songs. It was awesome.

Friday was certification day, rotations with the bishops and then that night was mine and Alison Snow's turn for Spiritual night and Testimony meeting.
Alison asked Rachel Morrow to come speak to us for spiritual night and then we turned the time over to testimonies. After testimonies (once it got dark enough) we got our hot chocolate for the night and came back to the amphitheater and watched the video we had made. We had worked on it since March. Going around to all the wards recording the YM and Stake Presidency lip syncing, dancing and doing tricks to the song "What Makes you Beautiful" After lots of blood, sweat and tears trying to get it done...It turned out amazing. The cheers loved it. They cheered, they laughed and chanted..."Let's watch it again" and "We want a copy" It was fun to see it all come together. So glad I went and was able to be Calli and Sadie. It was fantastic.

While we were all at camp, Gentry was home being spoiled rotten. (Both grandparents were out of town so she got to bounce around and spend lots of time with Adam.) She was able to go to Enterprise one day and play with Weston and Shaylee. Then one day she went to work with Adam all day and then the last day she went to Jantzyn's, Sand hollow and Red Lobster. They had a blast!
