July 31-Aug. 2, 2015
We finally got out on our first camping trip of the summer. I love camping with just my family, love having them all to myself, with no distractions and just time to be together.
We camped at Pine Valley. One of my favorite places. We found a site right by the reservoir. There was a cute little path from our site right down to the water. It was so convenient. We found ourselves down by the water fishing and playing a lot.
We got there Friday around 4:00 pm and got camp all set up and
started to play games...just in time for the rain to start.
Throughout the weekend off and on we would have really heavy downpours that would last a few minutes and then it would clear up and then rain again. It made it feel so nice and smell so good.
It didn't slow down the girls a bit. The just danced in the rain!
It got really heavy at one point and we were getting wet even under the shade covers so took cover in the trailer and played ticket to ride. Calli entertained herself by letting the other campers know how much she loved her sister she lovingly refers to as "Leaky Pants" (Sadie)
After the rain let up we headed to the reservoir and did some fishing.
Caught a couple and threw them back.
It was so pretty right after the storm, we pretty much had the reservoir to ourselves.
Walking back to camp for dinner
Gentry and Adam got the fire going
and Sadie, Calli and I prepped dinner.
After dinner we played games and the girls got freaked about a Beetle that was flying around.
Haha! It was so funny, watching them get so jumpy.
Fun by the camp Fire
Rise and Shine! The girls slept great. Me on the other hand didn't sleep at all. I hate when they all want to sleep up top together because I worry all night about one of them falling off. At one point a flashlight fell in the middle of the night and Adam and I were up and out of bed in a flash expecting to find one of the girls in a heap on the floor. None of them ever did fall off but we put Calli on the table bed the next night just so Adam and I could get some shut eye.
Saturday Fun...
Playing in the water...
Riding Bikes...
and Playing Soccer
(There had been talk about a freshman team and Sadie was contemplating trying out, so Calli and Sadie spent hours juggling, working on skills, scrimmaging and going on runs) it was so fun watching them.
and Calli reading her scriptures. She's trying to get the Book of Mormon done before school starts.
We had so much Fun! So glad all my girls are little campers and enjoy it as much as Adam and I do!
It was a great little getaway!
