Miss Ivins Pageant

Calli's friend Emma Fisher and Graccie Beck really wanted to do the Miss Ivins Princess Pageant and talked Calli into doing it with them. It was a little bit of a roller coaster ride for her. She felt completely out of her element a lot of the time during rehearsals and workshops but at the same time she had so much fun. She loved all the girls and the director. So she kept trucking along.

 The contestants.

 Contestants and last years royalty
Along with weekly workshops they were asked to do a 3 hour service project.
Calli did a Free Soccer Clinic for the kids in our neighborhood. There were 17 kids that showed up.
 Stretching
 Playing Shark
 Practicing their dribbling skills
Calli was a great coach and fun was had by all.
Night of the Pageant...

They had to get gifts for all the contestants, the past royalty, the choreographers and the director.
Calli's head shot from the Photo Shoot...Gorgeous!
Opening Number
Who knew Calli could dance?...She was a darling dancer!

Talent Portion: She played "River Flows Through You" She had to make so many changes to her music up to the last minute and memorize all her changes. She didn't do as well as she had hoped but she was the only one to play piano and it was beautiful.

Active Wear: This was one of my favorites. She looked so cute in her soccer uniform and snowboard gear.
Question and answer portion
She nailed it. She talked about how she was a tom boy and this was her first experience walking in heels.

Results She didn't come away with a crown but it was such a great experience for her.
She is so hard on herself and was upset about her talent but...
was SO happy for Emma who was crowned Miss Ivins!

Calli and Christian

Cal and her besties
Proud parents
and grandparents. She had a pretty good support system and cheering section there.
Calli and Sam Proffit. She loved getting to know these girls and made lifelong friendships.
I'm not sure how much effect it had on the results but the judges were aware that she couldn't commit to the full year and would be heading on her mission, nothing would stop her from serving...not even a sash and a crown. So, so proud of you Calli.
