Labor Day Weekend (Friday, August 31 - Monday, September 3, 2018) we went Camping with Ryan and Jenni Cain.
They have land on Brian Head so we both just pulled up our trailers and parked them on their lot. It was seriously so much fun! 4 days and 3 nights of adventure. I never knew Brian Head had so much to offer until we went exploring with them.
Noah and Charleigh are much younger than our girls so they were a little nervous about spending the weekend with them but they had a blast. I knew they would have fun once they all got comfortable with each other but I thought it would take them at least a few hours. Nope, right as we pulled up Charleigh was ready with her game. She came right in the trailer and they were inseparable the rest of the time.
Friday, we pulled into Brian Head around 7:00pm. We were in charge of dinner that night so we got set up and made Navajo Tacos. While the kids played games, hide and seek and tag in our trailer we sat around the fire and chatted until bedtime!
Saturday morning, we jumped in the Cain's "CanAm" and took off on a off-roading adventure.
We found a lot of fun trails and amazing views.
Adam's turn to drive. He liked to spin out just a little too much!
After our adventure we came back ate lunch and grabbed the kids for more exploring. Between their CanAm and 2 ATV's we had enough toys for both families.
Sadie and I jumped on the 4-wheeler
We found Cabin Sweet Cabin
While Adam and Gentry tried out the Raptor.
Following Ryan and Noah on their dirt bikes around the Cabins until we were all comfortable enough to head out on bigger trails.
For the bigger trails we jumped in the CanAm and the Cains jumped on their ATV's and off we went.
I felt pretty safe in the CanAm, we were going up and down some pretty crazy steep hills. As we all just followed each other all over Brain Head Mountain. At one point we came to a VERY tight squeeze for the CanAm but Ryan insisted we could make it. We may have left a little rubber on a couple of tree's but we made it...barely...after several tries.
But the views were worth it. At that that point we switched places and the Cains drove the CanAm while we jumped on the ATV's.
We ate dinner, played a few games in Ryan and Jenni's trailer while the kids played in our's.
Later that night we live streamed the BYU football game and watched it until after midnight. What a fun day!
Sunday, we went down to the park for the day. We fished, played in the kayak, ate lunch, played bocce ball and corn hole.
The kids had us and everyone at the reservoir laughing as they would continue to paddle themselves under the bridge. They all had to lay down in the boat to make it through. We kept expecting them to get stuck at some point but they always made it through.
We came back to camp had dinner, played more games, visited and then headed up to Brian Head Point after dark to look at the stars. It was amazing! I had never been there. the stars were so big and bright...This was one of my favorite parts.
Monday, we weren't in much hurry to load up so we played more games, ate breakfast and played around on the ATV's some more until we decided we'd better head home. It was on this last ride for these three when Charleigh asked to drive. At some point they were headed right for a cliff. She threw her hands in the air and screamed. Luckily, Sadie reacted and grabbed the handle bars and was able to turn it just quick enough to save them from going over the edge. She said their front tire was hanging over. Holy Cow talk about being watched over. So thankful they were kept safe.
On our way we hit and storm. Just as we were coming out of it we saw this sight. The storm looked like it was moving around the Cedar City Temple. It was so cool!
Just as we pulled in to empty the trailer another big storm hit. Adam got soaked as he ran around buckling everything up. I stayed in the trailer and waited it out.
What a great weekend! We seriously had so much fun! This is definitely a "First Annual" Trip of many more to come!
