Zion National Park

November 7, 2020
Calli, Adam and I took Mati to Zion's National Park. This is an item on his "American Bucket List." It's been fun helping him pass off these items and watching him experience things for the first time.
Pulling into Zion. It had been a year since Adam and I had been there. Even though it's just a short distance from our house, we don't take advantage of it as much as we should.
It is breathtaking and I always find myself taking pictures like it was my first time.

Heading to the tunnel

We drove through the tunnel and took the quick drive to Mt Carmel to the Thunderbirds restaurant for a slice of pie.
It was sprinkling off and on throughout the day.
View from the tunnel out one of the windows.

Back through the tunnel again. We ended up going back and forth through the tunnel two times.

We pulled over for some pictures. Mati was loving every minute of it.
We stopped at the visitor center to use the bathrooms and spotted a couple deer.

The park itself was full, so we decided to hike Watchman Trail. It's right by the visitor center and you don't have to get on the shuttle to hike it.

It was a great hike with amazing views.
Fall colors were starting to pop up everywhere.

The Tree of Life

"Mom, take a picture of me and dad like this" Haha!

Looking down at the switchback we just hiked.

We made it to the top and decided to hike the loop as well to a overlook.

So Amazing.

Looked like a painting

Candy Corn Rock

Calli being the caterpillar on Alice in Wonderland on this mushroom rock she found.

Cool little cave.

One of many of the weird signs along the way pointing out plants.
Virgin River
Walking back to the parking lot
We ended up being there for most about 6 hours. It was such a fun day.
