With the recent passing of my Grandpa Losee, we all wondered if there would be another Losee "Delta" reunion. With it being my dad and his siblings turn to plan they decided to hold it one last time. So we headed to Delta over Labor day weekend just like I have for as long as I can remember, for possibly the last time. (Delta is way out of the way, you would never really drive through Delta to get up North without taking a major detour, so unless we decide sometime in the future to actually go to Delta I don't see us returning anytime soon. It was so sad to close that chapter in my life. So while there I took every opportunity to take pictures of anything that meant something to me or that I had a memory of.
The park where we have had every reunion. There have been lots of food, family, talent shows, pinatas, races, and auctions take place here over the years.
Plus, lots of relaxing. Adam taking it easy in the shade.
This year with a smaller crowd, the auction didn't go as well as usual, so the auctioneer started selling things for push-ups. Calli did 35 push-ups for a cookie jar she later gave to grandma.
This is the hill we loving call "Skunk Hill." We (cousins) have called it this for as long as I can remember and for obvious reasons.
The only clothes store in Delta that we like to visit each time we go. It's actually really nice, it's like a Christensen's only with a red neck twist. I'm proud to say I've bought some things here.
After the park we always headed to the "Hard Pan." But with this being a "walk down memory lane" year we stopped by the old farm on our way out.
My Great Grandparents home.
Just down the way was the house my dad was raised in
The Farm
One of my grandpa's old tractors
Uncle Dean sharing stories from the past.
They warned us not to touch the fence because it was electric but Calli had to test it out for herself...yep, it's electric.
After our quick detour we were off to the Hard Pan. We were trying to decide how long we have been doing this tradition. We figured about 24 years. I'm not sure who calls it the "Hard Pan" weather it's a Losee thing or a Delta thing, either way we love it.
This is the fence that my dad ran into with his jeep and bunch of friends when they came out 3-wheeling as a teenager.

Everyone gathering for Hot dogs, Sloppy Joes, and Marshmallows.

View from the hard pan
It always looks like a used car lot.
The kids out exploring
While the adults relax and chat.
And listen to the BYU game. Each year BYU's first game falls on this day and each year the men gather around their trucks to listen.
A little Hard Pan photo shoot, just for fun!
(Sadie was too busy off playing with cousins to ever get a picture with her, so we took this the next day)

Brandon's turn
"Give me Sassy"
Mom and Dad taking one last stroll before we head out.
Back to the hotel for some late night swimming.
The next morning we drove around and snapped a couple pictures of some of my favorite memories.
The swimming pool. This is seriously the coolest pool ever. It had the biggest slide that would shoot you down so fast your bum wouldn't even hit it until half way down.
The high school. It was what was behind the high school that was so cool. They had a flag pole that we would always go to and swing on. You could get so much air and really go flying.
Grandpa and Grandma house. So many memories made here.
It was so weird to see everything gone.
I had to get one with me and the stairs!!

Lane Losee Family
After lunch before everyone went their separate ways we took a few more detours.
First stop cemetery.
Then onto Hinckley where my Grandma was born and raised.
Grandma Losee's High School.
It was so cool inside. I loved walking around and envisioning my grandma walking the halls as a teenager.
The Gym
It is now a historical site.
My grandma's parents.
They had a inscription on the bottom in memory of their son Myron Lane (my grandma's brother who my dad was named after) who died in war. For years they have been trying to find his remains and bring them home but their search keeps coming up empty.
After Hinckley we drove 4 miles to Sutherland.
This is the house that my grandma was born and raised in (in Hinckley) it was later moved to Sutherland and is still owned by family. They raised 11 children in this small 2 bedroom home.
After our "family history tour" we headed home.
The world's longest and most boring road ever...the road through Deseret from Delta to Minnersville. Just fields as far as the eyes can see with an occasional hill or...
Train or...
Factory.
(When I was younger we would pass this factory in the dark and it would be all lit up...it was my castle.
Delta has always held a special place in my heart. I will always love Delta and remember all the great memories made there.
