September 20-22, 2013
Each year my dad gets season tickets to the BYU games and then my brothers and sisters all get together and choose which game(s) we want to go to. This year we got the coveted BYU/UTAH game. The game fell on Sadie's birthday which we thought she'd fight about going to a football game on her birthday but she loved the idea so we made a weekend celebration out of it.
Adam got off early Friday and we grabbed Calli right from school and headed out. We got to Lehi around 7:30 pm. As we headed to our hotel at Thanksgiving point we noticed an event was going on so we walked over to check it out. They were having a nighttime glow in the dark 5K. We walked around a bit to check it out and walked through some fun gardens.
It was so pretty. Kind of a fun little spontaneous adventure.
Then we headed to the hotel for some swimming.
Adam playing colors with the girls.
While Adam entertained the girls in the pool, I sneaked to the room and decorated it and ordered pizza. Sadie was so surprised when she walked in.
Pizza Party!
Opening Presents!
The one thing that Sadie wanted more than anything was a pair of "FunKeys" for dance...she was sooo excited to see that she got the exact pair she was hoping for.
Modeling her FunKey's.
The next morning we woke up bright and early, went down for breakfast and then headed to the mall for some shopping. We arrived to the mall a few minutes before the stores were open so the girls played on the playground for a bit.

Gentry hanging out in the dressing room with Sadie. She is such a good sport. She's not into clothes shopping yet like Sadie and Calli are, she wants to head straight to the toy stores but she's good to tag along and wait her turn.
Escalator Fun!
After the mall we met up with Kevin and Stacy and their families at Trafalga.
Sadie changed into one of her new outfits.
She was so excited to spend her birthday with Kassi and Maddie.
We had fun...
doing the climbing wall,
going on rides,
and playing laser tag.
After spending a few hours at Trafalga we went to dinner at Chuck-a-Rama (Sadie's choice)
The waitress's singing to her.
After dinner we headed to Lavell Edwards Stadium.
All decked out in their BYU gear ready for the game.

Anxiously waiting for the game to start.

Adam and I.
Notice all the Red behind us...it made for an interesting game. I thought the Aggie fans were bad, but nope, the Utes beat them out by a long shot. They were the most filthy-mouthed, obnoxious and disrespectful fans I've ever come in contact with. I'm all for a little competition and rivalry but these guys took it to a new level. During the prayer they purposefully continued cheering and screaming and then at one point during the game, after a call went our way instead of theirs they all started chanting "Bull S*%t" over and over again. With our girls sitting there trying to enjoy a good game as a family, it became too much. Adam spoke up and told them what he thought of their un-classy little cheer. It shut them up...for a minute. Overall, it was fun, they defiantly made it interesting. The competitive person in me would do it again.
Blue vs Red
BYU ended up losing but it was still a good close game.
The final score was 20-13.
The game got over just before midnight. We drove Kassi home and spent the night at Ben and Stacy's. The next morning we slept in and hung out, played and visited until afternoon and then hit the road.
The kids getting creative.
It was a fun little weekend getaway.
Happy Birthday Sadie. I hope you had a great weekend celebrating. I can't believe you are 13 and that we have another teenager in the house. We love your guts and are so glad you are in our family. You make us laugh everyday.
