Grandma!

On November 18th my dear grandma passed away at 94 years old.

She lived a good life. Being blind throughout her life, marrying the love of her life and raising two children. She endured to the end and made it look easy. The last couple years however have been tough. She lived out the remainder of her life in a care center and hoped for nothing more than to return to her sweetheart.
My mom and Grandma
My mom called that week and told us grandma was fading and we'd better make it in to see her.  (We'd heard it before, in fact we had planned her funeral two different times in the past year and a half but she is so strong and such a fighter that she just kept pulling through) We went into see her on Monday, November 17th. She didn't look as if she'd make it long this time but I was still surprised to get the call from my dad late the next night that she had passed.
Calli and Sadie chilling at the care center.
We rushed to the care center to be with my mom, dad and brother's family. It was such a bitter/sweet moment. She will be missed terribly but so happy for the her and the reunion she was having on the other side. The rest of the week was spent at the mortuary helping make funeral arrangements, and spending time at my mom's with Kevin and Stacy who came down to help as well. We were all over to my mom's late Friday night helping with the program and display table and just enjoying each others company when we decided to decorate my mom's house for Christmas (no easy task) It took us 3 hours but we got it all up just before midnight. Adam had ran home to get Calli and made it back just as we were finishing and just in time for the clock to strike midnight and for us to sing Happy Birthday to Calli.  (Her Birthday in another post) It was good to just relax and have fun in midst of everyting. The funeral was the following Wednesday in Payson. My grandpa is buried in Provo and with Kevin being the bishop in Payson, we decided to have a small family funeral in Payson and then burial in Provo.
The funeral was right across the parking lot from the new Payson Temple still under construction. It was a beautiful service. With each of us 11 grandkids taking part in the program and my mom and uncle speaking. My grandma was an amazing person. Some of the words to describe her throughout the service were: courageous, strong, faithful, example, perseverance, determined, independent, patient, always happy, never a complaint or negative word about her trials, never said a cuss word or gossip in her life, obedient  etc. She was a true example of living the gospel to it's fullness and I'm so proud to have her as my grandma.
Adam was one of the Pallbearers

Cemetary Service.

Great grand kids letting go of balloons in honor of grandma.
Calli hanging out with cousins at the luncheon.
It was a quick trip up and back Wednesday (We had Thanksgiving the next day at our house) but it was a beautiful day. It was also fun to see family and visit with cousins we don't get to see often.
Love you always grandma!
