4th of July Shenanigans

We had planned with the Cains a few months back to do a back to back camping trip with the first weekend in Brian Head for the 4th of July. Then we'd leave the trailers on their property and then pick them up the following weekend and drive to Bryce Canyon for the 1/2 marathon that Calli had signed up for.

Adam got all backed up to the perfect spot and had the trailer all leveled before realizing he hadn't backed the razor out yet. It was such a tight squeeze trying to get that out of the trailer and miss backing over a tree. He had to two wheel it out. Boys will be boys.
All set up and ready to eat!!
Gentry came up with us on Friday and Calli and Sadie were staying home to work and hang out with friends.
The next morning, we had a long 4 hour ride planned with stops to fish along the way.

Love  the views we come across.
We had quite the climb going from Brian Head to our first stop at Yankee Meadow Reservoir.

Fishing!

After eating lunch and fishing for a bit we left Yankee Meadows and headed toward Panguitch.
Panguitch Lake

More Fishing.

Gentry and Charleigh looking for rocks.
On the road again.
Ryan is infamous for getting us lost or finding trails with dead ends where we have to turn around and go all the back, this ride was no different. What started out as a 4 hour ride turned into 8. He was trying to get us back to camp on trails rather than the highway to save the tires but after dead end after dead end we were all getting a bit tired. We decided to head for the highway...well, we found it but with no access to get to it.
We were so close...
We all got out and checked it out. Ryan and Adam walked down to the highway and thought we could do it, so again we were paving our own way only this time against the law. We were on private land and driving down a cliff to the highway. We made it!! Although we may not ever get Gentry in the razor again. HAHA!
We got back to camp and started on our annual 4th of July dinner...shrimp boil!!
We also made red, white and blue drinks and tie dyed shirts and socks.

We watched Austin's game which also included fireworks at the end of the game...good thing because the fireworks in Brian Head were cancelled. We played games that night before tucking ourselves into bed.
Got up and packed up and headed home. Found and drove by the sister wives bed and breakfast in Parowan on the way home. Another great getaway camping! See ya'll next weekend!
