Day 6 - Barcelona

Monday, February 26, 2024

Again, Monday we were supposed to go to Sabadell but since the huge market at La Rambla was closed on Sunday, and Calli really wanted us to see it, we decided to go back to La Rambla and to the market. That morning, our worst fear happened, Adam, woke up in Afib. He went for a brisk walk and then came back and rested while the girls went for a run and got ready and then decided to get some fresh air and see if that helped. We were very glad we went back to the La Rambla and the market. It was amazing. So huge and full of everything imaginable, candies, fruits, nuts, meats.  We had to try a little bit of everything. After the market, the girls had found a jewelry place that they saw on Tic Tok that they really wanted to go to. We found it and they stood in an hour-long line to get a couple rings.

Then we headed to the Barcelona Cathedral, where we did the inside tour and the rooftop tour. It was so cool. I was so happy that the girls got to see a little bit of what Adam and saw in Italy. After the cathedral we found a cute little Crepe stand and had crepes for dinner and Gelato. However, the stairs to the top, proved to be too much and wore Adam out, so while the girls and Levi ventured on, we went back to the apartment for some much-needed rest. While we were there we got a call from the cardiologist saying that he was in Afib and that he  had a couple three second sinus pauses which is three second pause in your heart rate. This had never happened and caused a little bit of worry. They told him that it can sometimes happen with his medication and told him to stop taking it until he got home. Which caused a little bit more anxiety. The kids came home after going to the Bunker which was a place that Calli would go with her companions to drink Mate’. It was quite the climb and overlooked Barcelona. They loved it. Afterwards they found a  FroYo yogurt place that Calli loved on her mission and tried it. They came home happy and tired. By the time they got home, Adam’s heart was back in rhythm, and we were able to get some sleep.

Adam and his meat/cheese cup. This he liked but the puffed pork rimes, we did not.

Loved my cup of fresh coconut.

Walking through Gothic Quarter on the way to the Cathedral.

LOVED it. This was one of my favorite places in Barcelona.

So cute.

The jewelry store

Barcelona Cathedral

Inside

It was shaped like most catholic churches, the shape of a cross, with a long middle aisle and then sections to the side with scenes of Christs life.

Judgment Seats

The Crypt

The climb to the roof. I almost took a spill down the stairs taking this picture.

The roof was awesome and worth the climb.
You'd never know his heart was out of rhythm as he kept venturing on with everyone

View of the Sagrada Familia in the distant

The gardens
Walking and shopping. Life size Caga Tio and...
Pooping man. Both Christmas traditions in Barcelona
Crepes

FroYo. One of Calli's favorite treats from her mission.
