Quick trip up north!

Saturday, March 2, 2013 we had a nephew getting baptized and another getting his eagle up north.
The baptism was at 9:30 Saturday morning. Sadie had a dance performance with the Rebelettes at the Rebelette Review Friday night so we packed up the car Friday and went to the performance.
We stayed long enough for her to perform her dance and then got on the road. We headed out about 8:30 pm. We drove to Payson and spent the night at my brothers house.  The next day we all got up and headed to Herriman for Trasen's baptism. Calli was asked to play the piano for the opening song and I led.  After the baptism we went back to Stacy's house for lunch.  At 2:00 we went back over to the church for Talen's Eagle presentation.  Then we all went to the district to do some shopping. The girls were able to find their Easter Dresses. After everyone was tired and onery from shopping we drove back to Stacy's ate pizza and then headed to Thanksgiving point where our hotel was and let the cousins all go swimming.  We crashed that night. The next morning we slept in, went down for breakfast and then met up with my mom and dad to head to Delta together. On their way up Thursday my dad received a phone call from his sister with some bad news about my grandpa. He had liver cancer and only had about 4-6 weeks to live.  My mom and dad were heading there anyway to have a meeting with all the aunts and uncles and doctors and to spend some time with grandpa. Adam and I decided we'd better go visit and see my grandpa for probably the last time.

He is 94 years old and has been staying at a care center for the last year.  We went to visit him there. He was just having lunch. My dad kneeling down talking to grandpa as Calli looks on.

My family with my grandpa.
I am so thankful that my girls have been able to know and have great grandparents. This is something I never had. They have known 4 out of the 8.  I only have 2 grandparents still living. My grandpa Losee is my last grandpa.  He lost his sweetheart about 14 years ago. So this is bitter sweet. You never want to see anyone you love pass away but I'm so excited for him to be with grandma again.  It was hard hugging him goodbye knowing this would probably be the last time. I have such fond memories of my grandpa and Delta. It will be so sad to close the door on that part of my life.

After leaving Delta we headed home stopping in Cedar for a bite. Gentry building her a barricade with napkins to keep Sadie from throwing things at her.
After eating we got on the road again. About 30 minutes to Leeds the traffic came to a stand still.  After about 15 minutes of sitting there Adam got out to see if he could find out what was going on. He talked to some truck drivers that said there was a rollover a few miles ahead and they stopped traffic to bring in the life flight helicopter..so scary.  Realizing we were going to be here for a while we all got out and stretched and played outside the car on the freeway.
There were cars lined up in front and in back of us for miles. Everyone was getting out of their cars, stretching, throwing balls to their dogs, letting their kids run, and meeting new friends.  It was quite the adventure. After about an hour we got on the road again. We had a fun and adventurous weekend spending time with family.
