Revolutions!

HEY HEY!
So I'm living in a revolution and it's fine haha So a huge thing that is happening here is yesterday Catalonia voted to become there own country and separate from Spain, but for them to vote is illegal! And everyone is just going crazy there are Catalan flags EVERYWHERE and we have seen some protesting of huge groups of people walking down the streets yelling and singing with flags, every night for a week they have been banging pots and pans out of their windows for 10 minutes straight we have to be in our piso by 10 though so it's a nice alarm clock. Everyone stayed over night at the schools to vote, we passed a school at about 9:50 and even all of the elementary school kids were staying up all night to protest! Fliers everywhere, the police have tried to stop it but.... every one is taking about it and people we contact have started yelling to us about it and refused to come to general conference because the day was too important! We got a text from president that night that said that there is a very high chance of violence and injury and even attacks and to STAY AWAY from large groups and do not involve in anything that has to do with it he told everyone to get extra food and water and money because there is a chance we might have to stay in our house a few days if something happens. And here in Vilafranca it is a very Catalan place. But so far there has been some injuries but nothing too hectic.  General conference was amazing! Me, my companion, the elders in our ward and George sat in a little room and watched it on an I pad in English it was so amazing. I wrote down a question before conference and all I can say is I know these are living prophets and they speak for God we can receive literal answers to questions we didn't even know we had. That if we put it into our lives it can change us for the better! My neck has been doing better but also worse, haha President Dayton set up an appointment for me and I will be going to the hospital here in Spain tomorrow so vamos a ver haha! But I truly have felt all of your prayers thank you so much!
Alejandro will be baptized this Sunday and we have two new investigators that just got a date for baptism that I am super excited about Jose Bots and Alberto, so the "miracle" from last week came to pick up her phone and turns out she's a twin and we are going to meet with both of them! They have a grandpa who is really sick and they are going through a lot of trials, we taught one of the sisters  Maria how to pray, she said her first prayer and after started to cry. It is amazing seeing peoples first experience when they say their very first prayer and feel that sweet love from God for the first time. and they love the Book of Mormon! Also a miracles this week was someone cancelled on us so we decided to do some pass bys. I opened the map and randomly pointed to someones home. We went there and the person we wanted to visit was not there but there was a woman who was cleaning the house, we talked to her and turns out she is a member who moved to Spain 8 DAYS ago and has been looking for the church but could not find it! We gave her the direction and a Book of Mormon because she was not able to bring hers! So many little miracles everyday! I feel so blessed to be serving here! So many amazing things. We almost got hit by a train this week and literally had to jump after it honked a us it was so scary oh my goodness haha! Also, George is moving, that has been hard. We took a trip with him to Barcelona to listen to a fire side by President Dayton and so he could meet him, and George got super sad and told us how we have changed his life and how he knows this church is true and he will miss us. He brought us presents the other night he bought us both silk flowers with some very nice fabric from Africa and a note tied to it. It was so sweet. The gospel has changed his life. It's so amazing! One of my favorite quotes from conference this week was
"Blessings will not come more by our abilities but by our choices" I know that this Gospel is true this week my testimony has really grown on the TRUE JOY this gospel brings! I love every bit of this gospel and feel so blessed to be here! I love you all thank you for everything have a good week praying for you all always!
Love, Hermana Peterson
