We had my nieces come down for a week and stay with us.
We had fun going to Jumping Jacks...
Swimming
Shaving Troy...
(Sadie has been wanting to give Troy a Mohawk all summer. Her and Maddie gave it a whirl but found it more difficult than they had thought. He only ended up with two bald spots. )
and enjoyed the 24th of July Festivities.
On Tuesday night the 23rd we had heard that Jefferey R. Holland was going to be down to accept an award and then there would be a Polynesian Show. We thought it sounded cool so we went out to Washington for the event.
Waiting for it to begin.
We spotted Elder Holland mingling with the crowd. Calli and Ashlyn got in line to meet him.
This is as close as they got before they asked everyone to take their seats for the program to begin. It's always such a neat experience to be in the presence of an Apostle.
World Champion Fire Dancer.
The Polynesian dancers were awesome and so fun to watch.
The next day we headed to the Ivins City Parade.
This year our wards float was "Celebrating our Heritage"
The kids were asked to dress like one of their ancestors. Gentry chose to wear my dad's army uniform to celebrate my grandpa, my dad and several great uncles that have served and fought.
Halle and Gentry on the float.
The ward Float
After the parade we spent the morning at the park enjoying all the activities, especially the slip and slide.
After everyone was cooled off and worn out we went home for a BBQ. The next day we headed to the Cabin with the Losee Family.
What a fun filled week the girls had spending time with their cousins!
