A couple days before Calli was to leave on her mission, we made a last minute decision to take a quick family trip to Lagoon. It was seriously the best decision ever. We had such a blast being together for the last few days and it helped me relax enough (having had MY time) that she could have friend time before she left as well, something I may have been more stingy about had we not had that family time for the weekend;)
Friday, June 9-Sunday, June 11, 2017
As soon as Adam got off work Friday around 4:00 pm we headed to our usually hotel in Lehi at Thanksgiving Point. We got there in time to go swimming for a couple hours and then came back to the room for a pizza party before bed. We woke up bright and early the next morning, to get there as it opened.
Parking lot, heading into the park!
Lagoon
First Ride of the day the Old White Roller Coaster
Our 2nd ride was the newly opened Cannibal. SO FUN! We all loved it. Adam said it was his favorite roller coaster he'd ever been on. For me it comes in a close second to DCA Screamin'. We ended up riding this 2 more times. One during the middle of the day and our last ride of the day at night.
Jet Star 2
Adam and I were in one car and all three girl were in a car right behind us. Calli said "This is just like when we were all in the womb" and Gentry said "We're not triplets" and Calli said "Oh, ya I forgot" Haha! She's a dork!
Fun in the photo Booth. It took quite a few tries to finally get us all to fit and get a decent pic. We were all laughing pretty hard.
Next up another family favorite...Wicked.
Hanging out in line. It was fairly busy that day with lines about 20 minutes long.
Photo Bomb!
After hitting another dozen rides or so, we decided to slow things down a bit and cool off. We headed to Pioneer Village and the Rattlesnake rapids.
It was in the low 80's so in the middle of the day we welcomed the water.
Gentry and I got soaked.
The girls had decided before hand to do Sky Coaster and thought mid day was the perfect time, so we headed to do that next,
The girls found some boys in line to chat with. They go to Dixie and were there for their Youth Conference.
Getting all geared up
Headed to the Platform.
Ready to ascend.
Ready to Fly. The girls nominated Calli to pull the cord.
Woo Hoo!
Mid Flight Dab
Coming back to earth
Grabbing the hook
"We're still alive!"
They LOVED it! Gentry was ready to go again. We had asked Calli what was one thing she wanted to do before she left and she said "SkyDive"...Guess this will have to do!
The Mouse
I hate this ride, but by this point Adam and I were taking turns going with the girls to give our dizzy bodies a break.
Adam and the girls on Cliffhanger
The girls coming out of the newly renovated Terror Ride! HAHA
Love their reaction! It was so much better than it used to be.
Getting some fatherly advice while waiting in line for The Bat. We had such a fantastic time. Our goal was to make it til closing which was 11:00. We made it until 10:30. We were all so tired. We drove to American Fork to find an In & Out...(Calli's Choice) for dinner and met up with Calli's best friend Emma who had just moved up there a couple weeks prior.
Their teary goodbye. This would be the first of many. Sunday, we slept in a bit and then headed home around 10:00 am to get ready for Calli's setting apart.
