IT FINALLY HERE!
Adam, Calli
Levi and I drove to Las Vegas Friday night so it wouldn’t be such a long day
for Liam and also in case he was having a hard time traveling and needing to
pull over, we wouldn’t be stressed about getting to the airport. We drove down,
only needing to stop once. Grabbed a bite at Raising Canes (of course) and made
it to our hotel around 9:00pm Vegas time. We had an early flight, so we climbed right into
bed. Funny Story: Around 2:00am Calli had gotten up to check the doors and make sure they were locked. I didn't see her but heard the door rattle and then saw a figire cross the room. I thought someone had come into our room. I whispered to Adam, someone just came in our room and before he could say anything I said "excuse you" before I figurered out it was Calli. We all got a good laugh.
Day 1 - Saturday, September 5, 2026
Sadie, Nick,
Gentry and Carter got up at 3:00am and started their drive down. We were able to
sleep in until 5:00am. The crew all showed up at our hotel around 5:15 and we
packed into two cars and headed to the airport. By the time we parked, checked
bags, went through security and found our gate, we only had about 30 minutes
before boarding. We grabbed snacks and breakfast and boarded for our 6:30am, 5 hour flight.
We were all
sitting together, which made keeping up with Liam really easy. We just passed him
around. Each one taking turns entertaining him and holding him while he slept. He
actually did so good. Drank his bottle at lift off and descend and only got
grumpy once. I walked the aisle with him and he fell asleep.
We landed in
Florida at 2:10om Florida time. We had a private car waiting at baggage claim
for us to take us to our resort. Originally, we had planned to take advantage
of their free water park day on check in day, but we were al so tired and
hungry, we just went straight to the resort. Our driver was so awesome. He used
to work at Disney World, so he gave us all the tea on our 20 minute ride. He
also, gave us a heads up and drove extra slow under the Walt Disney World sign,
so we could all get pictures and videos.
We were all
in awe as we arrived to our resort Art of Animation. It is the CUTEST resort
ever. We instantly felt immersed into the Disney Magic. While Adam waited in
line to check in, I ran to the shop and bought Resort refillable mugs for
everyone’s goodie bag I was filling to give them. These turned out to be one of
the best purchases. The mugs included free refills of soda, lemonade and hot
chocolate at ALL the resorts. It was fun seeing so many people walking around
with their mugs. The boys, loved having free refills each morning before
leaving for the parks, each night when we got back and also while visiting
other resorts. We were always making stops to get a drink. Haha!
We checked in
and were presently surprised when they said our rooms were ready. We had two
suites just a couple doors down from each other. Myself, Calli, Levi and Liam
were in one and Sadie, Nick, Carter and Gentry were in the other. We unpacked, decorated
our doors, made a huge Walmart order, got settled and gave everyone their
goodie bags. They each got: backpacks for the MNSSHP, shirts, socks, refill
mugs, gift cards, and straps for their refillable popcorn bucket that they
would get our first day in the parks.
After getting
settled in, we went to Animation Hall to eat. It was so convenient having a eatery
with so many different options right there providing breakfast, lunch dinner,
desserts, drinks and snacks. We could even mobile order, which we did several times.
After eating we walked through the Disney shop which had so much fun Walt Disney World stuff and then
decided to explore the massive resort.
Art of
Animation is huge. They have a running trail that goes all the way around the
resort that is 1 mile long. They have four different sections. Cars, Nemo,
Little Mermaid and Lion King. Three different themed swimming pools. Splash
pads and playgrounds. We were staying in the Cars section which by far was the
cutest area. It felt and looked just like Radiator Springs and Route 66. We
explored the entire resort and the Skyline. Hitting the Main hall again for
drink refills and the shop.
That night they had a pajama party in the main hall where Goofy showed up in his pajamas and took pictures with all the kids that were there. Liam couldn’t hang that late, so we got a picture with him sound asleep. So fun. It was crazy how much we were already thrown into Disney without even going to the parks yet. We had shopped, walked through the Disney themed resort, saw characters, got our “First Visit buttons” and ate Mickey shaped ice creams bars all within our first day!
