Calli had gone snowboarding with friends on Saturday and then to our house Sunday for her birthday and then to work on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday she called and said she had been sent home due to a sore throat and headache. Normally, we would have just had her quarantine for 14 days but with Thanksgiving right around the corner we wanted to have her tested. She was tested Tuesday Night. We all believed she was going to be negative and that it was just a sore throat. She had worked out in her backyard on Wednesday and went running. Something we didn't think she could do if she had covid. Mati who had just gotten over covid had come down to spend Thanksgiving with us and said he was so tired and thought there was no way she had it. But just to be safe Mati stayed with us and Calli quarantined until we got her results.
Wednesday evening we still had not heard and we were getting anxious because Thanksgiving was the next day. We didn't want her to spend it alone unnecessarily. I was on the phone with her when Mati said he was going outside. Calli was feeling fine and we debated just having her come over for Thanksgiving dinner. Fifteen minutes after Mati left I got the email saying Calli was positive. We called Calli and told her and she did not believe it. We also found out that Mati had gone over to see Calli. What? Had he just waited 15 minutes. We were stunned and didn't know what to do at that point. We had talked about moving Calli to the trailer to get her out of Grandma and grandpas house but now that Mati had gone over that complicated things. He couldn't come back to our house because he could still be a carrier and he couldn't move into trailer with Calli. We decided to have her tested again on Saturday and they would both just have to stay at grandmas until then.
We took over Thanksgiving dinner to them the next afternoon and to check on them. Turns out having Mati go over there was the BEST thing that could have happened. She would not be alone. He had already had it and could relate and kept her much needed company.
Sister hugging through the glass door. We continued to call and check on them and go over everyday to deliver things they needed to the lower deck where they would open the door and get it after we left. On Friday, her positive test was confirmed when she lost her sense of smell and taste. We cancelled her next test, no need for second opinion now.
What a blessing it was for us not to have to worry about her with Mati there. It was always so fun to get an update on things they had been doing to keep themselves busy. They exercised together. Mati says Calli about kills him everyday with her workout. They read their scriptures together, sometimes outside on a blanket to get some fresh air or a few times they drove to the temple and read them in their car. They had pool competitions, played the wii, watched movies and netflix, played games, drove around and looked at Christmas lights, chatted, laughed, hung out and fought. Haha! Calli said they will either hate each other after this or be best friends. One day Calli said she could not find Mati when he walked in from outside. He said he just needed some Peace. Haha!

So sad! But she is always so excited to see us. We usually talk for a few minutes through the glass.

She's such a trooper and has kept her spirits up. Mati stayed until Wednesday the following week. By them she was feeling like herself again. She had another test and was negative. This whole covid thing is just crazy. So happy that Calli's was not too bad, that she has recovered and back to normal and that no one at our house got it.
